Our experience with this building has been extremely disappointing. Here’s a detailed account of our issues:
1. Lack of Communication and Misrepresentation During Lease Signing:
Before we moved in, getting in touch with staff after signing the lease was nearly impossible. Our questions about rent and other details often went unanswered. During our Google Meet tour, the building was misrepresented in terms of its location. For example, we were told it was next to science and engineering buildings to match our majors, but it is actually next to the School of Public Health.
2. Emergency Services Unavailable:
The emergency phone number wasn’t functional for the first two months of our lease, which is unacceptable for tenant safety.
3. Safety Neglect:
On October 24th, 2024, the second-story window on the front of the building was shot at. Tenants were never notified about this incident, and it was quickly brushed under the rug without acknowledgment or communication.
4. Broken Promises During Lease Signing:
We were promised two “perks” (e.g., a Dyson Airwrap, Nikon camera, drone, or iPad) if we signed our lease within 24 hours of the offer. We signed within the timeframe, but the next day we were told this was a mistake and we would only receive one perk. Six months later, we still haven’t received the perk. The only update, two months ago, was that “we were approved for a gift but don’t know what it is yet.” Both of us selected iPads, and we’re still waiting. Additionally, we were promised three months of free parking and a reduced price for parking. After signing, we were told it was one or the other—not both—and we never received either.
5. Heating Issues:
The heating has been down for nearly a month with no visible progress on repairs, despite constant reassurances that it will be fixed soon.
6. Holiday Competition Failures:
We won the Christmas door decor competition and were told a prize—a gift card—would be sent the Monday after New Year’s. We checked emails and messages every day for almost three weeks and still have not received the gift card to this day.
7. Inaccurate Claims About Security:
Security is listed as 24/7 on the building’s website, but this is not true. There are gaps in the early morning when security isn’t present.

Positive Notes:
While there have been many disappointments, we’d like to acknowledge the positive aspects of the building:
• Maintenance: The maintenance team is fantastic and promptly addresses cleaning and repair requests submitted through the resident portal app.
• Trinity: Trinity has been incredibly helpful with conflict resolution, answering questions, and providing recommendations.
• Security Team: Although not 24/7 as advertised, the security team is great during the hours they are present.

We are open to revising this review if these issues are addressed. However, as it stands, our experience has been marred by mismanagement, broken promises, and safety concerns.

There’s no heating in my apartment, even though I moved in 2 weeks ago. We asked the management when we moved in, when we were going to get heating and were met with a transportable tiny heater to split between two people and no answers or follow ups. In Berkeley, it gets close to 39 degrees Fahrenheit and it’s clearly winter time. Heating is a basic necessity, especially in an apartment that is this expensive.

Everything is very well managed. The leasing team and maintenance team are on top of it. There were some issues as expected with new buildings, but these issues are promptly addressed. Much love to everyone here ✌️

Liah is a great person and helps with so much and makes everything way easier for her tenants she’s also very understanding which is a major plus. She also adds a lot of personality to the building staff and team.

It was the worst place I had ever lived.
They do nothing with the terrible neighbor who keeps making huge noise at midnight. So I could not sleep well, had to drop out of the courses, and even got depressed.
