I’ve been here for 2 years and it has only gotten worse with each property owner change. The garbage isn’t locked up, so homeless rummage and toss things out. Random people dump human waste causing maggots and flies. This smell penetrates the entire building. Many tenants have complained about the cleaning that barely takes place but it’s been months and there’s been no change. The washer and dryers never work. When they do, you’re fighting for your life against a swarm of flies and the stench from the garbage cans. Packages get stolen, we’ve requested a camera at the front but they don’t care. Our front door breaks a lot and you will get locked out. There is no on site maintenance so any request take over a week to get resolved. Our basement was infested with fleas so no one could do their laundry for over a week. Many tenants have reported cockroaches and nothing was done initially. Many complaints for the same issue had to be reported for any type of resolution. The front door code hasn’t been changed in years, so previous tenants have come into the building knocking on new residents doors to let them into the mail box. Because of this poor security, when I have left the building early in the morning to go to work, I have come across a homeless man sleeping in our stairwell. Again, the owner is made aware of all of this but does not care. If you request an emergency maintenance good luck, they won’t call you back and if it’s a weekend no one from management checks the emails until mid day on a working day. I knew when I moved in that I did not have a parking space, however the neighbors save spots for each other and I end up parking quite far every day. Upside, rent is affordable and the tenants are easy going and approachable.

If I could give this company no stars I would, save your money and go elsewhere. I wish I would have looked at reviews before renting with them. The level of professionalism this company has is poor and non existent. On my move in date the manager never showed up to turn in my keys to me, she gave me a code to the outside key box in order to have access to the key to my apartment, just to open my new apartment and found it dirty, there were dirt and debris on the floors, urine and feces on the toilet, breadcrumbs in the kitchen cabinets, my parking spot was full of trash and broken glass, also they rented the apartment without having the stove connected to the gas? I couldn’t cook for almost 2 weeks, I reached out to the manager and was given a response 3 days later? And a solution a week later. I had a safety hazard of my windows not properly closing/locking and it took them 3 months to resolve it. I am now being charged over $140 in utilities when I’m a single individual with no family and I’m hardly in my apartment as a full time worker and student. How is that even possible? They refuse to provide me with a comprehensive list of the utility usage. Wilshire properties and their staff consistently demonstrate a lack of unprofessionalism ethical standards. Their actions often involve misleading tenants, fail to fulfill contractual obligations and engaging in dishonest practices.

Since the beginning, I have been facing numerous problems.

First, I made the decision to move into a unit. I sent videos and messages, trying to be completely sure about the unit I was renting on multiple occasions. However, upon my arrival, the building gave me keys to a different unit and informed me that all the information they had provided earlier was incorrect.

Second, they changed the agreed-upon price from $2,408 to $2,845, ignoring the concession we had previously settled on. I tried to contact Steven, who told me to call Michell to resolve the issue. However, when I spoke with Michell, I was told that I needed to pay the full amount in AppFolio to see the discount reflected—but in the end, the discount never appeared.

I made this important life decision to move here based on the information Wilshire provided me, but it turns out that much of it has been misleading. This situation has highlighted serious internal communication issues, causing me unnecessary stress and uncertainty.

I need a response as soon as possible so that I can move forward with my journey here.

So far it has been a great community. Neighbors are pleasant here. Many neighbors also have dogs so you make friends easily if you have a pet dog. Cleanliness is ok, but could be better. Front or rear stairs have not been cleaned or washed down since I lived here. Also many lights are not working along the walkway or picnic/yard area. Haven't seen any movement to resolve those issues As the time changes this might be an issue.

Overall, I'm satisfied with my apt. It's spacious and quiet. Maintenance is quick to respond to maintenance requests. So far I've only had 1 maintenance requests and I've been there for 10 months. I would consider extending my lease.

Being that my background is in property management (Regional Maintenance Director) I tend to notice more things.

I rate my experience here 4.5/5.

Great and friendly community in a clean kept environment. Fast response with the maintenance team that always gets the job done. The landlords here are the best experience I have had out of all communities I have rented with in the past. Partnering up with good roommates always creates a better experience too!

If i can give them o stars i would. I've been trying to get a hold of a supervios because manager hasn't gotten back to me it's been a month! They don't care about their tenants we have no type of management and they take weeks for maintenance to fix things. It seem to me all they cara about is rasing the rent and not care about their tenants needs. Very disappointing!

If you're looking for a safe, clean, and quiet place to live, Northgate Apartments at Granada Hills is the place for you. It's located on a hill with beautiful views, and close to several freeways.

The staff is great! I'd especially like to mention Rowena, and Abe. They are both friendly, professional, and go above and beyond when it comes to any of the tenants' needs! They are invaluable to the workings of the complex.
