WARNING: DO NOT RENT FROM ROXBURY. My apartment mates and I had a terrible experience with them. Starting with the place not being ready, terrible quality, terrible electrical and plumbing. Things constantly fell apart, both of our toilets would clog at the same time. We had an okay relationship with our landlord, until the end. A few weeks before moving out, we got unexpected bills for plumbing services, totaling hundreds of dollars. I wrote them a letter, disputing these bills, which was never replied to. Then, the real problems started when we were denied our security deposit. Every single thing was disputed by them: the blinds that were falling apart when we moved in (which we complained about) were now our fault. The rent that was prorated by our landlord because of the state of our apartment when we moved in was denied. We were told we didn’t pay every month’s rent (which of course we did). My roommates went into battle to get our deposit back, which ensued a battle between Roxbury, the landlord David, and themselves. David denied telling us that we got prorated rent, etc. After literal months of this, they prepared to go to small claims court, at which point we got a check for a fraction of the amount of the deposit. They decided to settle for this instead of the struggles of going to court.
I’m writing this review not out of anger (though I definitely am angry), but rather to truly warn people that you do NOT want to rent from Roxbury. Terrible terrible experience that I wouldn’t wish on ANYONE.

Leaving paying residents with disabilities without an elevator with NO alternative and then siting the removal of an essential piece of mobility equipment as an "inconvenience" for EIGHT to TEN weeks is a disgusting demonstration of discrimination toward the disabled, I hope every single resident that is able to sue for the lack of necessary accomodations does. These people clearly do not have the capacity or desire to consider ANYONE but themselves when planning renovations and should not be in business, these are the kinds of land lords that we need to end.

TERRIBLE, DO NOT LIVE IN THEIR PROPERTIES! Only giving one start because they don't have an option for 0. Upon move in we were told the elevator would be under construction with a week of moving in, and that it would just be down for a short time. The elevator ended up going under construction about a month after we moved in, not on time per usual, and ended up taking 6 months to fix. We lived on the 5th floor. Not only that but there were huge roaches in our building, and the entire building had a bed bug problem, which resulted in our apartment getting bed bugs. Upon move out they tried to take almost all of our security deposit away, despite us leaving our apartment exactly as we found it. Once we threatened taking them to court they refunded most of the deposit, so all I can say is take photos and document everything upon move in if you do live in one of their places. Super run down and gross, do not recommend.

I lived in a Roxbury building for a year and had a very nice experience. The building managers were always helpful, and my neighbors were quite kind, too. I would recommend living in a Roxbury building to my family and friends.

Absolutely horrifying service. It took many, many months for them to fix my heater and windows. The management is shockingly rude over the phone, they show you attitude when you're asking for basic help! Not to mention, I still haven't gotten my deposit back. Extremely shady company, do not rent from them.

This company is a scam artist. Do not live here unless skid row is full. They filed an debt to collect with a shady collection company. Took them to court i won the case and they still illegally placed an infraction on my credit
