My bad experience so far living here for less a year.
- People can easily get in and steal packages - The garage gate and lobby entrance are always broken
- Someone is often smoking weed in the stairways

I understand that certain issues can occur in SOMA, but the management could do more to address them, such as:
- Fixing the broken lock on the lobby entrance
- Deploying 24-hour security patrols (currently, there is only one patrol for seven buildings, and it’s not 24 hours)
- Reinforcing entrances or reducing the number of entry points

As a professional management team, I’m sure they understand these needs as well as, if not better than, we do.

I previously lived in another building in SOMA, closer to the Civic Center, and never experienced these issues.

Danielle and Marco have been great in the front office. They have been extremely attentive to my needs as a resident and have had an open door policy since I moved in. Added bonus in having such a great group in the front office really making my living experience amazing. Thank you so much!!

I have never felt more at home. Danielle, the manager, is incredible. The maintenance guys are very professional and ready to help when needed. Without a doubt, the best decision I could have made was to move in to the Seven Apartments.

It is with a great deal of gratitude that I acknowledge the following people for being outstanding, supportive, kind, generous, and always professional. I have lived here a little bit over 6 years and I'm so grateful for the consistent professional support that I have received. I am referring to the following remarkable staff members: Danielle, Marco, Patty, Melanie, Daniel, Edy, and Julio. I particularly want to give an extra shout out to Danielle, Marco, and Patty who have come to my rescue numerous times.

I am an 82 year old person with disabilities and very much tech challenged. I consistently feel supported, safe, and helped by the kind, professional staff in general on every level, but particularly with all the changes in security, and phone access to the building, Danielle, Marco, and Patty have come to my rescue numerous times with a great deal of compassion for my disabilities and limitations. It's worthy to note that I am connected to many people in this building and the kind, professional posture of the staff here is also experienced by so many other residents. We all have so much to be grateful for. Thank you for the continued support. I frankly was concerned when Waterton purchased the buildings, thinking the services provided would be diminished. Fortunately, I was wrong. The services have gotten better in some situations and have not diminished in any situation. The management at L Seven is superior and I have benefited from it for many years.

The special activities that L Seven periodically sponsors for the residents have been joyful and a wonderful way to meet other residents and again, be supported by the staff

I lived in this apartment complex for many years, and over time, the quality of management has significantly declined. What used to be a well-maintained building now feels neglected.

The most alarming issue is the security—or complete lack of it. The doors for Building 7 were broken for over five months which apparently are fixed now after i moved out. This left residents vulnerable to theft and unauthorized individuals entering the building.

In the first month of the security failure, someone broke into my apartment while I was sleeping and stole all my house and car keys—then stole my car. I reported this to the property manager, Danielle, who initially claimed she would investigate. She mentioned checking the door access logs to see if someone had tampered with the locks, only to later tell me that the battery-operated locks don’t track entry logs. She also said she would review garage camera footage to see who stole my car.

However, when I followed up in person and via email, her attitude completely changed. She became dismissive, yelled at me, and said she couldn’t do anything without a subpoena from the court. Where is the empathy? She went from being "willing to help" to essentially saying there was nothing she could do—abandoning any effort to resolve the issue. When I pointed out that both the apartment break-in and car theft were connected, her response was:
"The camera in the garage would not confirm if anyone entered your apartment." If my apartment was broken into and the car was stolen who else could it be? and how are they not interconnected?

At the end of the day, she did absolutely nothing.

This was the final straw. I no longer felt safe living there and moved out—which turned out to be the best decision I made.

Other observations:

Marco, another staff member, is hit or miss. Sometimes he’s helpful, but other times he’s full of attitude. If you're talking to him, he cuts you off mid-sentence, saying, "Let me finish."—which is just rude and unprofessional.
On the positive side, I did get my security deposit back, and service requests were handled in a timely manner. The apartment layouts were great but you did hear your upstairs neighbors walking or jumping.
But if you ever need to deal with the leasing office, prepare yourself for a frustrating experience.
The units themselves are nicely designed, but security is a joke, management is incompetent, and dealing with the office is a nightmare. I do NOT recommend renting here.

If you value security, professionalism, and good management—stay far away. I’m much happier in my new place, where the management actually cares about its residents.

By far, one of the greatest experiences. Relocating from Arizona to San Diego, and I toured with Danielle and she was great! Positive, great energy and she definitely made me feel welcomed. I highly recommend coming in and taking a tour with Danielle.

When I moved in here a year ago it looked like a great community with a professional management team. After the building was sold to another company from Chicago, the quality of everything drastically decreased. They don't clean or repair common areas. The CO alarm in the garage is not working for at least a month. Carpets are full of dog hair. They sent me a lease renewal offer with a 16% (!!) increase while services were only degrading. Today, I got an email from them with a payment notice with information that I have 24 hours to pay. As it turns out, they messed something up and not all was charged automatically like every month. But they treated me like it was me who withheld payment. After today I know I won't be extending my lease. The new owner company is highly unprofessional, only comparable with Essex properties, which is on top of the list. I would avoid this place. It's definitely not a "luxury" living, as they describe it on their website.

I have lived at LSeven the past 8 months. And had an extremely positive experience. I could not even think of a single complaint or anything negative. Staff members Danielle, Marco, and Patti are always extremely professional. They are very helpful genuine and friendly. Honestly I feel like every time I leave the leasing office feeling great. They make tenants feel very comfortable. I highly recommend LSeven Apartments.
