I put in a work order with the Gateway to examine some staining. I saw on my ceiling and Juan came up within a couple of hours, knew exactly what the problem was and got me a dehumidifier to get the water out of the drywall. he then did a great job following up and I think his customer service is exceptional. he explained everything to me fully and was very pleasant and professional.

Just moved in to The Gateway in SF FiDi. I can not praise Raymond Barrios enough! He was my leasing agent and helped me find an apartment here. I literally visited the property three times before I found the unit I liked and toured with him all the three times between December to February. After I selected my unit I had to see it two more times to take measurements etc. Each and every time Raymond was not only patient but more than willing to show me around, completely non-judgmental and would even jump in with my boyfriend and me to help us take measurements, figure out the sunset locations with sun path apps, use measure apps etc (btw he had every app you could imagine needing when touring an apartment and I actually learned about these apps from him - and then I even used these apps at other buildings I toured!!!). Funny enough, when I finally signed my lease he voluntarily took me on another tour of my apartment which of course made my day! 🙂 Throughout the process he answered all my questions and was also very prompt in getting back to me. He also followed through promptly after my move in and helped me look at everything in the apartment that I had questions about. Really looking forward to spending a few years here! 😀

This apartment has the worst management that I’ve ever met!!

I was scheduled to move in on 12/24/2024, but four days before that, I was informed that there was a pipe burst and the apartment was flooded. After days of negotiation, we settled on the solution of delaying my move to 1/7/2025. They promised that the apartment will be ready by then. I was lucky to get my old apartment lease extended. Fast forward to 1/6/2025. No one reached out to me about anything. I called the management all day and they finally picked up at 6pm. They then informed me that there’d be no one to give me the keys when I arrive the next day, due to scheduled tours and lunch break. I doubled checked with them, and they assured me that the apartment was ready for move in. The next day, I drove all the way from San Jose to SF in rush hours just so that I could get my keys. When I went to check the apartment, it was no where near finished!! It was in mid construction, with shelves unfinished and equipments lying on the floor, and the apartment all dusty. I’ve already scheduled movers and they’ll arrive in one hour. I’ve been calling them for hours now and no one can be reached!! 😡😡I don’t know where I’ll stay the night tonight. I may become homeless tonight because of the poor management at The gateway. Let this be a lesson learned for people concerning renting here.
