I have just stayed for a weekend in between a 2 week business trip and I must say it has been great. I am not sure if it is the bed or the river sounds or the scenery but it has been a great and relaxing stay. Nathalie has been super nice and managed to help me rent a mountain bike and was always there for any advice and help.

We have stayed at the Riverside Mountain Lodge multiple times now and absolutely love our stays. The rooms have a mountain cabin charm with breathtaking views of the mountainside and river below. We truly can't recommend the lodge and Downieville in general as a great place to get away and enjoy some nature in comfort!

I can’t say enough great things about the Riverside Mountain Lodge! The rooms were amazing and rustic yet sophisticated and elegant. Right on the river, my wife and I got the best sleep of all time. It’s nestled right in the town with all the amenities you could ask for! The staff was amazing and Lydia took care of us like royalty. We are already planning our return!

Lovely place to stay RIGHT on the Yuba River. Kind staff. Small but nicely appointed rooms with a balcony on maybe every room. Fridge and microwave in every room. Some rooms have kitchenettes, we did not need that. It’s exactly what one wants when staying out that way in gold country. No frills, but nice and clean. And the sound of the river lulls you to sleep. And there is a perfect swimming area right by the green bridge, 300 ft away.

Very polite, accommodating and helpful staff. Found Lydia especially so. Room was clean and comfortable, nice towels! Loved our room on the river side, loved the sound of the river. Loved that the lodge was right by the town so we could walk everywhere in town. Found some great restaurants. The people are so friendly, the town is lovely and there are some lovely lakes not far by car to see!

What an amazing hotel. The little touches of local items were great- to include a free postcard and popcorn. Natalie was so helpful and kind- probably one of the best hosts I’ve ever encountered. When we come back to Downieville we will definitely be coming back here!

The Riverside Mountain Lodge, on the river in historic Downieville could not be better situated, only steps away from everything this charming little town has to offer. We were fortunate to have been given what seemed the honeymoon suite, #3 with a deck overlooking the river. Lydia was particularly helpful from letting us know we could arrive early to providing useful information on the town and even amenities. Thank you so mjch for making our 49the anniversary so special! Truly a great trip to this truly historic area.

Only reason we left a 4 star for the room was because of the noise. There use to be a door into the office that just had a blanket covering it. So we could hear everything through it.

Side note we are in a different room next year. So will definitely give another review. The rooms are very nice though.
