Nice, quiet community on a dead end street, yet close to the 101, across from Hamilton. Multiple buildings with different floor plans. Apartments are relatively modern and many have a garage! Maintenance is handled expertly by Luis (who rates 5 stars!).

This places has it all!!

My wife and I were in San Rafael looking for apartments and we were told to check out Novato area. By luck we got lost off an exit which happened to be the exit for the Crooked Oak apartments. This was on a Saturday late in the day and we just happened to run into the maintenance man Luis. He was so nice and told us all about the community here and we fell in love with it. He told us to come back and meet Sophia whom is the manager. She understood that we needed a apartment but not until the coming month and with curtain amenities. Sophia was able to find us a unit that not only met everything we wanted but also would be available when we needed it. Since we still were living in Nevada at that time she was able to do everything for us by email. Sophia made our move so easy and painless. Now the property is gorgeous with wildlife everywhere to see. Yet the community is so quiet and peaceful. Very well maintained and there is plenty of parking with garages. If you want the best in everything this is the place to live. Give Sophia a call and you will love it here.

My experience over the phone was great. But when I arrived to view the apartment (by appointment) the rent magically increased. Since it was now out of my price range, she wouldn't even allow me to view the apartment. Do not rent here if you don't have a vehicle. I had to walk 2 miles to get there and half of that was uphill. Only to be turned away. Make it clear over the phone that you don't rent to certain types of people. You waisted your time and definitely mine. But don't worry I won't try again. Thanks for nothing.👋

I have been here for a little over a year and the area is great and the apartments are well maintained. I have had great experiences with the support from both management and the maintenance team whenever issues arise. Luis is amazing at responding quickly and is very knowledgeable about issues that I've had including plumbing and AC emergencies that were resolved quickly. Helen the property manager is also great at communicating whenever issues arise.

We have lived at Crooked Oak for 3 years and it has been amazing! Luis is absolutely AMAZING! He responds to any request as quickly as possible, he is fast and clean when performing any work and always follows up with us to make sure things are running smoothly. To say he has made our lives easier is an understatement. I don’t know how we would survive without him. Thank you Luis!!

It's been 8 months since we moved and management refuses to return our calls and emails about our final bill.

They double charged us amenities for over a year, tried to raise our rent four times in 2022 (to a total of over $500 than we were paying the year before, they started dropping off a rent increase notice almost every month towards the end of us living there)

After months of frustration I finally got to speak to the office manager and was assured that we would be refunded the amount for being overcharged for rent and amenities. While they did refund some of this they still owe us about $1000 in overpayments and continue to ignore us and had the audacity to send us to debt collectors after we called and emailed multiple times trying to settle things.

They sent us a bill and are claiming we paid less than half of what we did for our security deposit. And now the debt collectors are claiming we owe almost three times the amount that we were sent on our final disposition statement where they also tacked on a late fee to attempt to rip us off yet again.

Beyond that we shared our wall with someone who would beat the walls, slammed our doors and outside with rocks, followed me down the stairs ranting threats, and management wouldn't even answer our emails or address any of our concerns. We couldn't feel safe leaving our own apartment and constantly had our apartment smell like cigarette smoke that was leaking in as well.

The back stairs that allowed a quick walk to the parking lot were unsafe for over a year and never fixed, which meant that walking to the parking lot took much much longer. Which was hugely frustrating.

This company is shady, and I do not recommend living here.

The one thing I will give them is their maintenance guy was great. Super nice guy, always on top of thing. I wish him the best!

Wow- certainly have been enjoying my new home at Crooked Oaks. Helen was instrumental in making my move-in flawless. She was extremely efficient and made the whole experience 5 star plus, she went above n beyond for me. Once I settled in I have been impressed with the immaculate care of the property (Luis you ROCK), the community, as well as the amenities have been superb. I love it HERE! Call Helen she will make your stressful moving situation a breeze! Best place to live in Novato!

Had a day free in Novato to apartment hunt and was pleasantly surprised that Helen, the onsite manager made time for me as I dropped in without an appt! She was gracious and professional, showed me around the entire property with all its amenities and answered my many questions thoroughly. I'm so thankful that she made time for me and it was such a positive experience that I'm seriously considering this property to relocate! I don't usually give reviews but had such a lovely afternoon at Crooked Oak.
