My husband and I rented a property from this realty group and it ended up being one of our biggest regrets. From the beginning the property we moved into had problems; dirty blinds, doors and walls, amenities like blinds installed upside down, an unkept backyard, terrible patchwork, etc. and the landlord Karina Devine commented on these apologizing for them and spoke from her mouth “do whatever you want just make it better not worst” right there at that moment my husband and I wish we would have got that written and documented because it would come to be a retracted statement that would cost us significantly later on. An eager young couple we were, with me being pregnant and us having a 2 year old already, we took the place even with its initial flaws. Initially while living there, on site amenities (washer/dryer) were included in the rent but later the lease was changed and we were expected to pay a shared amount with other tenants (whether we used them or not - which we didn’t in the beginning because I would do laundry at my parents). Only months into living there we discovered black mold, that had clearly been there prior to us moving in, and my husband fixed the plywood that was engulfed with it out of pocket. There were several things we fixed out of pocket, informing the landlords, and never received compensation. We tried our best to be great tenants, never complained, did alot of handy work ourselves (including gutting the yard that was inoperable with weeds higher than the fence despite being told someone would come in and clean the yard), and had no problem doing it because if it ever came to moving out there was no question we’d get our 1,900 deposit back. We upgraded the kitchen bringing a new fresh paint and installing a dishwater out of pocket thinking we had, in good honesty, the permission of the landlord who gave a green light from the very first day. Fast forward a year and half and I lose my job and we are no longer able to afford living there. In moving out, the landlord Jeremy (husband to Karina) claims that we had no right to make the upgrades, the wife claims she never said what she said, and they threaten to sue us if we don’t forfeit the 1,900 that he’ll supposedly use (at a different time) to take the dishwasher out. The dishwasher and paint are clearly going to increase the value of the property but besides that we would have NEVER made those changes had we not felt we got that approval from Karina early on. It was made to seem like we defaced the property when in actuality we loved that property and improved it immensely. We were even willing to go back and fix what they claimed were damages and we were denied that option. In not having the funds to be able to seek legal action ourselves we were forced to forfeit our deposit. We also were the ones to help the landlord find new tenants as quickly as they did cause we didn’t want them to lose out. All of that was a slap in the face in the end. Although we understand we did not get written permission to make the 2 upgrades we took a WORD that was not honest in the end. This company does not have honest and concise communication between the renters and we advise any futures tenants to beware.

Their staffs (for example - Karina) were very friendly and helped guide me through all the necessary processes. Their knowledgeable and hardworking marketing team developed an aggressive marketing campaign which quickly filled my vacancy I had. By the way, the photos and Virtual Tour they made for my house are wonderful!
