Not helpful. Dishonest. Claim we didn't make payments the bank shows they cashed. Then, they charged us late fees for non payment. Finally, after receiving the runaround and spending ridiculous amounts of time, we made the payments again. But they are still assessing us for the late fees and charging extra fees to send a letter stating that we allegedly have late fees.
Where did the money go? This company is incompetent. Beware.

I wish I can give Balboa Management Group negative million stars. Under Wendy Mullens and Balboa Management Group - our HOA board of directors were able to siphon off hard earned money of homeowners. Wendy, the one who is supposed to manage the affairs of the board and give good advise decided to do the quite opposite. She’s not alone at fault, it was also the board, that was able to fraud our community of over million dollars and put the HOA in a major deficit and completely devastated the community. When the community realized that Wendy and her management group and members of the board were engaging in embezzlement and fraud, they were voted out and Balboa Management Group was fired. But they didn’t end their tactics there. They gave the board two days notice, after the board gave them 60 day notice, and left this HOA hanging and we couldn’t have had any management company represent us due to the unprofessionalism that Wendy, Antionette engaged in. They got away with millions from our HOA but when others were trying to help us, they engaged in destructive tactics. All in all, Balboa Management Group is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. They’ll be nice in front of you, but their snakelike nature will poison your entire community; so I urge any communities ever thinking of getting Balboa and especially Wendy Mullens, seriously, be aware. They will turn their backs on you after they suck out all your resources and blame you for their stealings. They are professional thieves is what they are. Stay away from them. Balboa does not deserve any stars.

Anyone who believes that Balboa is not giving them great service (note previous reviews) should experience really bad service and management and then they can judge Balboa. Our association has never been managed better. We are quite confident that without Balboa and their attention to detail and ability to customize our budget with our needs, we would be an association in distress! They have helped and guided The Board on a path to achieve all our projects. We had a management team that we had lost all confidence with, and after bringing in Balboa, we were astonished at what they did and how they helped us. Thank you Balboa, Antoinette and Judi.

Balboa management manages a few different properties that my company has worked on and they truly add a personal caring touch to all of them. They are always very responsive and Antoinette who runs the company is in the office making sure everything is run to her expectations. 5 stars, absolutely.

They don’t do anything.
I currently live at a community “run” by Balboa. What irks me the most is that I feel like I have been professional in my emails in my 4 years of living here.

In the first year, we had (and still have) a problem with people parking in front of not their homes. Our property is a townhouse style where garages face each other. There is barely enough room for a a vehicle to park infront of a house without the across house having trouble backing out of their garage.
I voiced my issue via email to balboa and their solution was to paint a “red zone” and parking in handicap parking spots with no placard! Everyone knows that there’s no patrol checking. Well that didn’t really deter anything because 4 years later, there are still people parking on the red zone. HOA posted a parking patrol company that we could call and out of the 4 times we have called, how many actually got towed or fined? 0. Therefore, this community knows that there’s actually no consequence and does what they please because they know nothing will happen. UPDATE: wow after 3 calls in a span of 10 hours, the parking patrol actually did something for the first time in 4 years.

So, in conclusion, why am I paying an HOA fee for? Sub par “gardening” service and insurance? Looking at these reviews it looks like I’m not the only one that’s struggling

I would recommend any Real Estate investors and HOA communities to steer clear from this unprofessional, unethical, and incompetent management group to manage any of your properties. This management group has been bought over by the new owner Antoinette Stratton and they do not respond to emails or phone calls for weeks. When you do get a response, it's just one response regardless of you replying back.

They are unethical, do not follow their own duties and breach their own contracts. A bunch of hypocrites that does not know anything and will completely lie in your face and make unintelligent statements to avoid doing their jobs correctly.

I had a horrible experience with them and in the process of filing lawsuit and complaint with the state.

Emails and phone calls are not returned in a timely manner if at all. Years long issues within building has gone unaddressed and affected numerous residents in our complex affecting our health, safety and our finances.
There are no consequences for persons not abiding by the hOA rules and regulations. Written notices that are ignored without more punitive action when corrections not made. Much needed pest control and hoarding is out of control in our building.
There is no support from hoa to help our community that is suffering from lack of assistance. We cannot rent our units or sell without informing potential renters or buyers there is a building wide roach infestation. Who in their right mind would rent or buy a unit knowing their is widespread roach infestation?

Edit:
Annual raising of monthly rates (which they give months of notification). Little to no notification of random additional fees/charges called them (Previous Balance, no memo to explain the fee until I asked them in person ). Move office with zero notification. Not sure how many messages we have to leave to get replacement gate clicker when our vehicle was broken into on the property. (Did our neighbors get informed? Will the gate code/clicker be reprogrammed?)
