Moving in process was fine. Moving out was a total disaster! Don’t move here unless you don’t want your security deposit back. They will charge you for cleaning no matter how clean you keep the apartment or how clean you leave it after you move out. You might as well don’t bother to clean when you leave because they will still charge you! You will be charged double for anything broken in the apartment and be on the lookout for broken end cap in the kitchen. Apparently even if you get it that way they will still charge you for it. My neighbor had a bad experience when she was moving out. She only got back $800 from her deposit and I got around the same back. Horrible!

We recently looked at a place where it felt like our realtor couldn't care less about us. Very rushed and unpersonable. Nonetheless we paid the $50 per adult application fee ($100 total) and never heard back from them. No one called or emailed to let us know, what I'm assuming is- that we were rejected. Definitely felt scammy and gross considering they took our money and never followed up. Maybe you'll find a place through them, but I'd leave it as a last resort.

Renting from NextHome at first seemed fine, Caitlin Causey was very charming and her assistant Ana was nice as well. Once we were renting from them it was hard to get ahold of them sometimes, and I ended up having to clean up a huge mess outside because they said they couldn't get someone there for at least 2 more days (leaving the items was a health hazard and there are children in the building).

When we moved out, Caitlin cancelled our move out appointment, then was 45 minutes late to the rescheduled one. She said her assistant scheduled it for her, so there's not enough communication apparently. When she got there she was rude because of a few things we forgot to clean, we agreed to clean those things and she said we were lucky she told us, that she didn't have to and could have just kept our deposit. She's right, we forgot to clean under the oven, but the way she presented it was incredibly rude and then made us worry she would try to keep our deposit even after cleaning said oven. When I dropped off keys she was condescending asking if I thought she was stealing my deposit. I would not recommend renting from them if you can avoid it.

Caitlin Causey was my property manager when I rented for a year between home ownership, she and her team were great to work with. The property I rented had developed frozen water pipes once, and she sent a repair person immediately on a Saturday morning! Also, she let me know when workers were coming to clean out the gutters, so I wasn't suprised by them and the property was kept up very nicely. Her communication was always very professional and she returned my calls right away. It was a great place to rent, I would highly recommend her to my friends and family as a property manager! Then when I was looking to buy a house again, Caitlin was who I called and she was able to find me the exactly home I was looking for! She did all the work on the deal, I was in my new home with more ease than I ever had in past home purchases! I recommend Caitlin Causey to everyone.

It was my first time renting last year and the property manager Toni B. made the process effortlessly easy for me. The apartment I got was well priced for what it was and if we ever needed maintenance putting the work order through the online portal and calling Toni on her phone were both just as fast. The only reason I docked one star is because of the business it self and nothing to do with my year renting. When we were first looking at apartments I had called Arctic Sun three times just to schedule a showing. Then when I did have a showing "Katelyn?" forgot to ever show up so we called Arctic Sun again to which the assistant on the phone said that they don't lock the doors and we were more than welcome to go look around. It was nice to see the place but I also would have liked to have my questions answered while looking at apartments instead of the day I'm signing the lease in their office. Everything worked out in the end but the lack of professionalism I experienced at the beginning before I met Toni should have been enough to make me run away!

We were with Century 21 who then turned into NextHome for our rental in Fairbanks. It was the absolute worst experience we have had with a company and with the owner. We would put in maintenance orders that wouldn’t get done. Also the plumbing in the house was horrible and would always freeze in the winter but the owner always blamed it on the tenants and had them foot the bill. At the end of our lease we found a new place NOT with this company. The move out process was even more horrible. They didn’t care about us when we were tenants but they acted like they wanted it to look like the Taj Mahal. I literally spent 3 hours or more deep cleaning the place which looked great and they still charged us for a cleaning fee . DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!! Trust me and find another place. It was the best decision we have ever made!
