Nothing positive say about this place. Was referred to buy someone I didn't know, told me they got them right into a place. So I went and talked to them. Told them maybe three sentences of my situation. They shut me down, told me they had nothing available without so much as taking my name. I feel like that they absolutely discriminate, just buy how people look, and possibly even gender. Either that or there just lazy.

Kept my entire 800$ deposit for having to clean the kitchen floor and the inside of the fridge they refused to replace or repair. The whole house was clean and the kitchen was cleaner than when we had moved in. Don't recommend renting with them unless your just desperate. Still haven't received a breakdown of what my deposit was used on and I'm pretty sure they kept the 3 months of rental assistance I received when I left 1 month into it. Should be investigated for fraud in my opinion.

I would definitely advise people to stear clear of Five Star Realty.

My family and I are moving from North Carolina to Soldotna due to a change in employment. We have been remodeling houses heavily for the last few years while the market has been so hot, but we were looking to change our approach when we moved to a smaller town, like Soldotna. This does not mean we are not interested in fixing a property for our own sake, just that we are not looking to remodel and move on.

We called Five Star due its number of high reviews. I generally do my best to vet out potential real estate agents, as we have worked with some difficult ones in the past. When I called, the receptionist didn't wait for me to finish my sentence before whisking me away to Ms. Rhonda.

Upon speaking with Rhonda, who seems to be a highly esteemed broker in the company, I was left with a very sour taste in my mouth. I stated my name, background, and interest in moving out there. Admittedly, I was a little thrown off when I was transferred so quickly, but I attempted to do my best. Rhonda, in turn, laughed when I said that we've flipped houses in the past. She stated that you could not do that in Soldotna. She did not listen to my explanation, as I attempted to recover and state that I was looking to fix it up for me and my family. She said those type of houses don't exist in the area. Confused, I pressed a little further, stating that I had located several houses on the Alaskan MLS and that I could see repairs that needed to be made.

Rhonda laughed again, stating that those houses would assuredly be cash only. Again, this didn't sit right. I have researched houses before, and I know when I'm looking at a cash only. Some of the properties we looked at were ranging upwards of $400k.

I attempted to regain control, stating that I was looking to work with an agent that has experience remodeling. Again, I was laughed at, and Ms. Rhonda's exact words were, "Nobody does that here. I have worked in the industry for 33 years and I have never met anyone that's flipped houses."

I was dumbfounded. This woman was dismissive, cocky, and stated blatant lies before waiting to hear what I was actually saying.

I reached out to a different brokerage, who not only put me in contact with someone who currently remodels houses, but also took the time to listen to me before brushing me off. I will never attempt to use this business again, and I am shocked by the number of five stars that they have received with the lack of professionalism I was shown.

if you are a low income home buyer or first time home buyer Matt Davis is the best for being able to help you find a home that meets the criterias and is more patient than many relestate agents are. He helps explain more and helps make the process smoother and less stress and understands the difficulties first time home buyers have. The paperwork is a real nightmare with USDA and HOP as is finding houses that meet the criteria for USDA and HOP for people going that route... And low income loan programs to buy a house with is what Matt specializes in...
