People are friendly enough but their contractors will do things as cheaply as possible! To the point of looking trashy. Why do places think that's a good thing? You get what you pay for and that's a sad quality of work that won't last long.

Money should not be so important that a mother of 4 young children is forced out of her home by the sheriff's department despite significant payments made by the tenant and non-profit organizations. Even though another nonprofit organization agreed to pay the remaining balance, this property management company would not let the family back into the home until a volunteer with the nonprofit organization drove 35 miles to submit a check in person. It's very sad when money takes precedence over compassion.

It is appalling the living conditions at 3408 25th Street S in Arlington,VA with cockroaches which poses a serious health risk for me. The fact, that, Choice Property Management has been lackadaisical and verbally made excuses to why in the beginning they would not send an exterminator. I had to pressure them to send an exterminator to combat the problem only to learn that the Property is infested with cockroaches. It is a community wide issue. Choice Property Management has been rude, manipulative, point-fingers, and is choosing to retain my full security deposit without justifiable reasons. The owner of this condo has been non-responsive to address this matter because she must have known, in fact, of this awful condition that she has not managed well.

We've worked with Choice Property Management over the course of many years, tenants, and properties and have always been very pleased with the service. Shawn is extremely responsive and easy to work with. We've had to navigate tricky circumstances like dealing with possible eviction of a tenant and deciding how and how much to invest in properties before selling, and have always found him to give us good counsel. We've also sold two properties using Shawn with great results.

Choice Property Management took over management of my condo when my previous firm retired. I was a little apprehensive because of some of the reviews, but found Shawn to be extremely responsive and easy to work with. Shortly after Choice took over, I decided to sell the condo - and listed it with Choice. Again, the communications were excellent, advice and feedback were honest and appreciated, and everything turned out really well for me. I was very happy with the services provided.

The worst rental company I've ever worked with. I was a renter for almost 20 years and I always had good experiences with the companies I rented from. Choice basically stole our deposit of 2,900.00. They lied and made up stuff on the letter. They actually charged us money for cleaning up a blood spill. We never had a blood spill or anyone bleed in our house the 3 years with Choice. Oh the stuff they made up and charged us for. They charged us for gutter cleaning and there are gutter guards on the gutters. They charged us for another cleaning service and we had already provided them with a cleaning service bill from a very reputable company. They didn't care. I could go on forever. DON'T RENT FROM THEM! The only people giving them good ratings are the Landlords because they are ripping off the renters and putting more in the Landlords pockets. BEWARE.

My type of work had me move into rental properties over 10 times over my career. My last one, with Choice Property Mgt. was by far the BEST. They treated me with gold standard service. Responded to maintenance requests quickly. Even bought and installed portable air conditioners when the main unit went out! (The 1st day after reporting it out!!!!) Very flexible with their inspection dates. Never worked with better property mgt. service!!! THANK YOU!!, Marty
PS. After six years renting, still got my WHOLE deposit back!!!

Rented a property through Choice Property for 2 1/2 years and it was more hassle than anything else. We had the basement flood with water, twice, late at night. Both times we attempted to call the emergency line and both times no one showed up to fix the issue. One of the times we called, the hot water heater broke and was spraying water. By the time we found out there was an issue, the water level was around ankle height. We attempted to call the emergency phone number and no one answered. We shut off the water to the hot water heater to stop the water and pumped the water out with a wet/dry vac we own. When we finally got in touch with someone when the office opened, they sent people out immediately to fix the problem. They had to take out most of the carpet in the basement and some of the walls still show signs of water damage. The damage could have been way less if someone answered the emergency line hours earlier. I felt bad for the owner of the house who has no clue how poorly the maintenance is on their property. The other time our basement flooded was Choice Properties fault. The dishwasher wasn't working correctly and they sent someone to fix it, the person needed a part and would return with the part and left the hoses disconnected with the water on. The water soaked through the kitchen floor into the storage room below and we lost a lot of personal items due in that room due to them leaving the hose disconnected on the dishwasher. I'm glad we moved out because the basement has a musty odor to it and doesn't go away even after leaving the doors and windows open for a while. They stopped by twice for inspections of the house when they should have stopped by at least 6 times for inspections. I will say they were responsive by e-mail. The maintenance team no-showed on numerous occasions and said they got confused when told there was a tree in the front yard, so they couldn't find the house....the house is located in a wooded neighborhood, essentially everyone has trees in their front yard. The maintainence people said they knocked and no one answered, even though someone literally sat at the front door watching TV. When it happened once, I thought stuff happens and moved on to reschedule...the thing is it happened a few times. The property manager at the time, Justin, told us he tried to call someone and no one answered on multiple occasions, yet he's called a few times before without issue. I let him know no one has missed calls from him and I don't appreciate him lying. I can keep going, I have plenty to say. They even took $600 out of the security deposit for labor such as wiping down the ceiling above the stove, fixing a closet door that was off track, and cleaning debris from an overhead light fixture. Even if we were in the wrong for all of the things they listed, there is no way it totaled to $600 in labor. We even used their cleaning vendor that they recommended and said knew what to clean. If there were any cleaning issues, they would call the vendor. Overall, I'm happy to not have to deal with them anymore. I feel bad for the owner of the house because they place is going to probably become an expensive problem when mold is found from the multiple floods and poor clean up.
