I don't normally leave reviews, but something really needs to be fixed with their system. We owned a property for a year so decided to check on when we owed taxes. Luckily I caught it a week before it was due. I was told the bill was possibly lost in the mail since they had the correct address on file. I went in person after no answer after 5 call attempts.

I would give this place a zero star if it was possible. Every year I don't receive my tax notice for the property I own in Scott County. They have my address wrong even though they have been told multiple times the correct address and I have asked them to please make the correction. I have even sent in a letter with my correct address with the late payment and late fee because of this, and still this year I am still going through the same problem. I have tried to call this office multiple times and I get no answer. I am on the verge of getting legal help to get this issue corrected. I can't believe that a County office is so Incompetent. I should not have to pay late fees do to their inability to do their job.

This place is a joke. No one ever answers the phone! They all should be kicked out of this office!

I live in Lee County, and have my whole life, but got a personal property tax bill from Scott County this week. I have called every day, multiple times a day and nobody answers the phone! I even called Lee County to see if they knew anything, and they said they have no idea why nobody is answering. This is a public office and it's outrageous that you can't get through.

In 2019, I was sent my brother-in-laws tax bill and he received mine. His daughter took care of his business. When I called her, she told me it was straightened out. However, from 2019 to 2021 I have been paying on 25;acres that she owned and was in my name. I only own 21 acres. Last week I got a bill from the treasurer’s office for twenty-eight hundred dollars for the twenty-eight acres that I own. The commission’s office told me to bring my checks and whatever I had. My niece sold the twenty-five acres to my neighbor while it was still in my name. He said he had been up there twice to get it straightened out to no avail. When I call the Treasurer’s office, nobody answered. Twice I have left my number for her to call and she never calls me. I called my niece in Knoxville who owned the twenty-five acres. She said her husband had a folder on it, and she said she would call me the next day. She had never told me she sold the the twent-five acres to my neighbor. She was ver evasive about it. Mashed told me she and her husband had met my neighbor at the court house, and that’s all she told me. I am going to try to go in tomorrow to try to correct it. The commission asks me several times if I was sure the twenty-one acres was all I owned. Before 2019 I was only paying on the twent-one acres. Sounds like somebody learns to do their job correctly if they are being told the truth.

My husband and I have tried to call for about a week straight off and on all day to ask a question about our tax notice. No one has ever answered. You want us to pay our bill, but when we have a question, we can't in touch with anyone. There is no excuse for this.

I would give a zero if possible. I've been trying to reach the office by phone for over a week because I no longer live in the area. I even spoke with someone in the office adjacent who took my number down and gave to the treasurer's office and have received no follow up.
