MB is the best! My mom ( who passed away in 1999) did business with them.
They were very accommodating to me even though I lived in Puyallup. Now I live in Waco,Texas and even though we're so far away, we still get excellent service.
I'm going to cry when Marion retires.

I last rented through Associates West in 2014. The building was well-maintained. The lease agreement was reasonable and clearly written. The business was and still is locally owned and managed. Rental agents and maintenance staff were professional. There were a couple times when a concern went unaddressed for too long, but that was not the norm and every concern did get addressed, and with fairness.

Today I looked them up again as I am considering a move because the owner where I live now is considering raising rents. When I saw the low average rating for Associates West, I had to speak up on their behalf. I would feel good about renting from them again.

I rented with Associates West for a year at their 3703 California building (it's reasonably priced but there is no sound insulation you hear every toiletflush and foot step). While they weren't the worst Landlords I have had they are solidly near the bottom. When the roof of your apartment leaks and you have to sleep on a bed in your living room, don't expect a break in your rent. When your upstairs neighbors are monsters and blast sh*tty music until all hours don't expect them to do anything, even if you ask politely. When you move out and they send you a check minus a random 6 extra hours of cleaning even though the place was cleaner than when you moved in... that's Associates West.

I'm very unimpressed with these guys. I was renting from them and one of their property owners in offices on California Ave. I set up several potential tenant referrals for other office space available in the building, and they set up showings and then just never showed to meet the people. Also, when they do show up, they say yes to everything (Yes, the walls will have insulation and you won't be able to hear the people talking next door. Yes, we have ordered recycling cans.) but every single thing they told me yes to never happened. When I questioned them about it, they sent me straight to the landlord, who then said I was harassing them and kicked me out.

They took on all of Gary Cobb's rentals at 3280 California Ave SW (including the apartments above on Hinds and the offices next door) while he has pending lawsuits and an investigation being conducted on him currently. He said that he would have them take on the rentals so people wouldn't know that it was his building, and Associates West knew that and agreed to take on the property management anyway.

They always take the front parking spots when they are on site, even if they are there all day long, making carrying in supplies, receiving shipments, or simply letting customers find parking to get into your business very difficult (there is plenty of parking right around the corner).

I will never rent from them again, and encourage anyone that is considering it to get everything in writing, along with a timeline, ESPECIALLY if it is one of Gary Cobb's buildings.
