The Camber team has some of the friendliest apartment staff I have ever worked with. They are quick to respond to my needs and inquiries. Amy and Alex are awesome. Ty and Bryant are also super fab. I love that their company promotes and encourages community involvement as well!

The staff here are probably the nicest people you will meet. However, we recently had a thief come by in the early morning to steal our package. I love the amenities the community has to offer but i wish we had increased security to prevent these type of situations or have a locked gate for the walk ways as well. Im pretty sure the thief did not live in our complex but probably came through the open walk way.

This place is too expensive for the issues.

I’m sure that some estimate somewhere says the rent is right where it is supposed to be but I have some doubts. Our experience here has been a bit lacking and I don’t blame the staff. The staff has been nothing but kind and have listened to me complain time and again and they make promises and nothing happens. That being said I do think the staff is gaslighting about a few things.

Here are the issues. Parking. There is none for 90% of the complex. There are two buildings in “Phase 1” that have parking on both sides. Pretty sure they are ok. Everywhere else, good luck. The staff claim there is a spot for every bedroom in the complex but I often have to park no where near my unit, and have several times had to circle the parking lot waiting for anyone to leave to park. People have parked along the entrance at times since every other curb is marked as a fire zone. If they want a suggestion, drop the chain by the dog park and stripe that little area. Probably be able to add a few spots there.

The unit itself initially seemed good but the longer we stay here it becomes more evident how small it is. Granted we are a little bit of a larger family. It’s also drafty. There is an evident gap under the back door.

When I said the staff I think is gas lighting, they claim they are doing something about the parking but looking through the other reviews this has been a constant issue here. They claim they have a night watchman that comes by several times a night, but I have never seen one. They claim someone is checking parking passes but I have yet to see any evidence. We stopped putting up our carport pass because it’s a pain switching it between cars and no one checks it.

So my review goes something kinda like this
-2 stars for parking
-.5 for unit issues
-.5 for a lack of action

Some other things that didn’t factor into my rating. McWilliams Road is hit or miss busy at the actual apartment but good luck turning left out of Safeway to get home. Safeway’s parking lot sucks. The traffic pattern is actually terrible.

They have a package locker but it’s really just there.

They have a park. They really need regular swings.

The dog park is pretty ok. Good sized. Not sure about the wood chips.

The pool is small but good.

They have a hot tub

We aren’t huge fans of our neighbors and I’m sure the feeling is pretty mutual. I don’t know how someone above us with a big dog complains about our noise. Other neighbors complain about door slams but the door has spring loaded hinges so, sorry, the door is slamming itself. And often it sounds like it’s slamming and I am trying to shut it gently so, I don’t even know. We do not plan to renew here and if it didn’t cost so much to break the lease we would probably leave early.

Parking sucks to the point where residents have no choice but to park in handicapped parking, fire lanes, and I even had an employee raise his voice at my girlfriend because she was parked somewhere that she is not supposed to due to no parking and he told her “ you can park in the under cover area but you will piss off your neighbors “ As a resident coming up on a year and a half and paying $2500 for a 2 bed is unreal. This has been an issue the entirety of us living here and nothing is done about it. Wonder how much extra we pay for the gates in the front that never work. Talk about security. The apartments themselves are nice but not for the price.

Since living here for several years I have to say that the amenities they offer are wonderful and clean. The maintenance is impeccable. Quiet nice surroundings. The staff is a joy to work with if anything needs attention.

A week after the vehicle audit in our building there’s still no parking spot left at night. I recommend that you do an audit or check at night so you can see cars parked without permits. During the day there are always plenty of parking spots because of less cars, you may catch some illegally parked cars but most of them park at night and it is during the night when there is really no spot available not during the day. Even if you audit every day they can still park at night without management noticing. Tonight I’m really pissed I’ve been driving around Camber for 12 minutes looking for a spot. Guess what I parked at a handicapped parking again. There is literally 0 regular parking spot and just across where I parked there’s a car without a permit. It’s raining today, I’m really exhausted from work and I get stressed out every time I go home because I know there’s no parking spot for me.

Parking can be extremely frustrating but everything else has been ok. At night the lots fill up.

Update: Went to ask about "We do have available reserved carports close to your home, would you like to reserve one of these spots?"

I was told 43 is the closest available. I live across the complex from this spot, this is on the side of building D. Lowering my rating accordingly.

Update: 3 weeks later and I still see the same vehicles with no registration tags with the complex. Never saw notes on vehicles. Nothing.

Update: 10 Months Later. Got home after a date at 10pm and the lot is full. Had to park literally across the complex (about a football field and some change) and walk past countless vehicles (almost every other car) without parking permit tags handed out by the office. This is a daily event for me now. Pretty sure someone could run a used car lot out of this place, and they would never get towed.

Update 12 months later. Someone went into my gas tank right in front of a camera. Reported to the office and they asked me to come back Monday because they have no access to the cameras. Went back and they had not looked at the cameras yet. Told me they would call me. A week later and I have heard nothing. Pretty weak.

Parking is extremely difficult and frustrating especially at night and weekends. I work evenings and this has been an everyday problem for me. I usually park 3 buildings away from my apartment. They have plenty of handicap parking spots but most of them are not in use. There was one night when there was literally no parking spot left (not even outside), so I had no choice but to park at a disabled parking since there were many. I’d rather park there than having to park by Safeway or by the school across the road. As a resident, regular parking should be included in the rent. I’m paying almost $2,000 a month for a 1 bedroom apartment and I couldn’t even have a parking spot close to my unit. Their solution is carport which is additional $60/month. You would think that you’ll have a parking spot since you’re a resident but seems like that’s not the case at Camber. Carport should be optional and not like required for you to have a parking spot. I’ve seen a car with disabled parking permit not parked at a disabled parking spot but at a regular spot. I’ve seen a visitor car parked at a regular parking spot. They can provide parking for visitors but not for a resident like me. So frustrating. I have not had this issue before with all the apartments I’ve been in. I’m not gonna be surprised if one night I’ll have to park by the school or Safeway.
