Hands down probably the worst property management company we have ever experienced. When we first decided to use them we had hesitations based on what we had heard but our property manager seemed competent. We had no problems for almost a year and then there seemed to be high turnover over the next two years and our property manager changed multiple times. When our tenants moved out, it took the property manager over 2 months to get the house "ready" to rent again which is unacceptable in my opinion. The vendors they contract for any type of work are beyond subpar. We had multiple work orders for the same plumbing repair that needed to be done and, once we moved back into the house and saw that the problem was never actually fixed, my husband (who is not a plumber) had it figured out and fixed within 20 min. Our house was still dirty when we moved back (even after they had a cleaning company come out for a full house cleaning). The walls had various splatters throughout the house and the floors had very obviously not been mopped since the renters had left. The carpet cleaning company they hired didn't clean all the carpeted rooms. This list could go on and on. Do yourself a favor and do not use this management company!!!!

Absolutely despicable. Thousands of dollars in hidden, major issues with the plumbing. We are still fighting them over finishing the repairs they were required to do as per the repair request. The realtor we had the displeasure of working with kept bringing out people who mentioned "Mc Guyvering" something when talking about the required repairs. The same realtor kept saying how "nice" she was being with the repairs (that were agreed upon and she was REQUIRED) to do.
This is a nightmare. This is our first home. We moved here with my husband's job and this is what we have to deal with on top of a cross country move.
The pictures are highly abbreviated cliff notes. The picture of the shower is raw sewage.

My husband and I worked with Stu McNabb and Susan Perry at Windermere Whidbey Island to buy our first home. Unfortunately, it was a TERRIBLE experience! I would give less than one star if I could. We were told that Stu and Susan were a team, but initially, we only worked with Stu. What Stu talked about with us and what was actually put into the contract were two totally different things. Stu kept talking about "industrial cleaning" and closing costs. Later, after we bought the house we even found out that the home was 400 square feet less than advertised! My husband asked Stu about this at one point after we walked another house in a nearby neighborhood with the same exact layout that was listed at a lower square footage. Stu said, "Oh, they're just not accounting for the finished basement room." Which was absolutely and completely wrong, come to find out. Unfortunately, this was our first home buying experience and we were very poorly guided. We actually experienced so much miscommunication and incompetence with Stu that we stopped working with him in the middle of our buying process and ended up working only with Susan instead. Things didn't get any better, though. The home we purchased was unkempt, and had been quickly moved out of by the previous owners. We were told throughout our buying process that the house would be thoroughly cleaned before we took possession. The awful cherry on top was when we went to meet Susan to get keys. We walked in and there were cleaning products she had bought at Walmart on our kitchen counter. We didn't get a picture outside our new home or anything and Susan quickly left after implying that we would need to clean the house we had just bought ourselves. I was floored! I have felt all kinds of grief over this experience. I have felt screwed over, lied to, and decieved! I hope nobody else ever has to feel this way when buying their first home! My husband is a veteran. He was deployed overseas last year during the birth of our first child, and when he got back, we used his VA loan to purchase our first family home. Veterans United connected us with Stu and Susan. I am very sad to have experienced that THIS is the referral given to veterans in our area. Such a disgrace!

Windermere Real Estate has been a fantastic community partner for many years. They come out and support the local community and the events that happen in Oak Harbor! Every year, they provide volunteers to support the Whidbey Island Marathon and staff an on-course water station to support the 1,500+ participants. Weather is always unpredictable during the race, but the Windermere team isn't - they're ALWAYS there! Thank you!

I rented from Windermere for 3 years. I had a wonderful experience. They matched me with the perfect home. When I first rented, they explained to me that any damage to property while in my care was my responsibility (come on, renters, that's a no-brainer!). If I had any upkeep needs, they responded quickly with quality service.
I strongly disagree with the negative review of Jennifer. For me, a single mother and new to this area, Jennifer bent over backwards to make sure that I was comfortable and familiar with the community. She was one of the first friendly faces I met here and one of the first to make me feel welcome. Jennifer helped me with school district and child care recommendations, as well as other local extra-curricular opportunities.
I was so happy with Windermer that I eventually used them as my realtor to BUY the house I was renting. This process,too, was smooth and easy - they handled the details flawlessly. I am a Windermere fan for life.

We are delighted about our continuing experience with Windermere Property management in Oak Harbor, specifically with Jennifer M. We were matched with the perfect property for our needs. Jennifer worked with us on affording the pet deposit. Any concerns we had about the property have been addressed and remedied immediately. Repairs necessary are communicated to us well before the date of maintenance. As a retired military family returning to the area after 3 years, we couldn’t be more pleased with Windermere as our property management company. We hope to continue with the company when it comes time to purchase our forever home

Tremendous experience with Windermere Rental Properties. The front office is knowledgeable, and kind there is always someone available to answer questions or give recommendations. The real star of Windermere Rentals is Jason McFadyen. Jason can always be reached via phone, text, or email and is professional and courteous. I had to move for the military on incredibly short notice, and Jason helped find my family several rental options within hours. Jason always went above and beyond to make sure that my family was taken care of and that we had the proper resources to move in and out of our homes. When it finally came time to PCS, Jason kept in touch to ensure a smooth transition. We could not be happier to have rented with Windermere and definitely recommend to all of our friends.
