Rented with a disability that is exacerbated by the cold and had to live without heat for months on end and submitted stacks of maintenance requests. Was in contact with a lawyer when they finally replaced the heater so I dropped it. Then when move out time came around they withheld our security deposits citing it was for cleaning, when I attached receipts of having paid $500 for a professional deep clean they ghosted me and still kept our deposits. Also called my fiancé derogatory names when he said he was concerned for my health and safety in the house. Do yourself a favor and do not get scammed by them.

I wish I could give no stars. We spent hours cleaning and preparing our unit for the next tenant with full intentions of receiving a full security deposit returned. They took $900 from our deposit for so many nonsense charges. We were given a dirty unit to begin the lease and they were 2 days late to start the lease. We have photos and documentation of everything, but what can you do? The court won't help and they take months to return phone calls. We paid every month on time too and rarely called for maintenance. Arthur Trusler should be ashamed of himself.

Edited to 1 star review based on our move out experience. Most of the 5 star reviews are because they ask you to leave a review right after signing the lease. Unfortunately, they’re absolutely terrible about move out agreements.

Absolutely great experience with Bel-Cross properties. They have clear, detailed and up-to-date listings on their website with videos of the properties. If you decide to see a property, it is very easy to set up a showing and their agents are quick to respond and very courteous. Our agent was Ms. Maggie who was so helpful, understanding and patient with showing us the house we were interested in even on a weekend and answering every question we had. She was very supportive of some of our concerns and has been working so hard to keep us updated on the details and make our rental process a smooth one. Highly recommend her in particular and Bel-Cross properties overall for finding your dream house here in Morgantown WV!

This company will keep your money and ignore you when you question them about the move out charges. Not only did we not get our security deposit back but we are getting charged additional costs. I know what you’re thinking: “oh but college kids are messy and destructive”. Not only did we leave the apartment in a clean condition, we noted that it was even more clean than when we had moved in. You WILL be charged for normal/natural wear and tear. We lived in this apartment for two years. Things that rental companies are legally required to financially cover is coming out of our pockets. Complete scam. Took the company two months to respond to one of our numerous inquiries about the validity of the charges.

5. If you renew a lease they will raise the monthly rent.

To those college or non-college students or parents, I suggest you do not rent from this company. To this company: I hope this review helps you make different decisions in the future as a business and as human beings.

My daughter rented from this company this past year , upon leaving when her lease was up she left the place cleaner than when she arrived. Bel-cross charged her for a door that has been broken before she moved in, charged her for a broken toilet seat that was broken before she moved in, charged her because they plugged in a smoke detector that has been plugged in the entire time she lived there. BEWARE Bel-cross only communicates through their portal and once your lease is up you will lose all communication you had with them. Lucky for us, we have pics and communication to back our claim. My daughter has left NUMEROUS emails and not one person has gotten back to her as to why they are holding her security deposit. BEWARE of this company!

I would absolutely never rent with Belcross again. They took our entire security deposit on top of adding additional charges. My roommates and I lived there for two years and left the apartment in great condition. We were then ignored through many emails asking for further information about why we were being charged for damages by previous tenants. A huge portion of our deposit was taken for painting, when the painting job prior to moving in was subpar at best. This was all recorded on our move in sheet; that there were random splotches of paint in various places, red paint splatter, and obvious patchwork done, but our move in sheet was ignored when it came to giving our security deposit back. I would 100% tell anyone who is thinking about renting with Belcross to find another place to rent with.

*update* we have been in our rental unit for over and a year and have renwed our lease. Belcross has been a Godsend! The property manager is always on top of things, maintenance always responds in a timely manner and does a great job. They are hands down the best property management company I have ever dealt with. They take care of their tenants and the properties they manage! Bel-Cross was great to work with while we renting. Our townhome was great, and Rhonda made the experience stress-free by providing timely maintenance when we needed it, and made sure to follow up to ensure any problems were taken care of.

We also had a wonderful home buying experience with Destiny at Bel-Cross. She made the process easy and fun. She worked around our schedule, and was always available for questions along the way. Her knowledge of real estate laws and processes was impressive. The documents that we needed for making offers, contracts, etc. were always completed promptly, ensuring that we didn't miss any opportunities or deadlines. We would recommend her 100%.
