It was okay. Inam disabled and they aren't totally disability friendly. There is an elevator which helped a lot. But there were no ramps to the mail boxes. Also, for the price, amenities are very limited. The complex behind Karbon offers a lot more and is the same price. My car was broken into as well. The security camera is for looks and it doesn't work. Also, the garage I parked in was always open. The door has never been fixed totally....maybe a couple of weeks here and there. Ir is a great starter place until you can find something better. It's near all sorts of restaurants and stores. It's also only 3 miles from the freeway access.

This is the worst complex I have ever lived in. It is a hot spot for vehicle break ins. There is not cameras around the complex. Very dirty inside and out. Dog poop everywhere and they let the trash cans become mountains of poop and trash. They double charge their residents for parking but there is no safety for my vehicle. The leasing office is racist and me and my dogs get targeted by the employees that work in leasing office. Also countless amount of hidden fees that they charge their residents. The worst place ever. I play for the NFL and I work here but own homes and have tenants. I would never put my tenant through what they put me through. Do not move here. I’m leaving this month

Imagine the most deplorable living conditions conceivable, akin to a den of illicit activities; that’s the grim reality of these apartments. The attached footage reveals the appalling neglect and is merely a glimpse into a series of disturbing events. From harboring fugitives leading to midnight police raids, to a management team, particularly Janessa, whose absence would be as effective as their presence.

The water was abruptly cut off for two days with barely any notice, leaving residents parched and without basic sanitary facilities. The stairwells, a dumping ground for refuse, reek of decay. Homeless individuals find refuge in these neglected corners, and the entrance security is a joke, with a door so defective it might as well be non-existent.

A seafood odyssey once permeated the building when a container of raw shrimp was abandoned, transforming the space into a makeshift fish market. The alarms, as reliable as clockwork, pierce the silence of the night at 2 AM. The stairways and hallways are marred by unspeakable filth, a testament to the non-existent security measures.

Packages left outside vanish within the hour, and the management’s response to communication and maintenance requests is a resounding silence. This litany of grievances is but a fraction of the ongoing saga, and recounting these horrors is a distressing ordeal in itself. Prospective residents, be warned: this is not merely an apartment complex; it’s a battleground for your sanity and safety.

Reply to Karbon’s response: your formatted response to every review doesn’t really make you guys look good. While every tenant is responsible to keep the surrounding clean and safe multiple communications to the front desk has been continuously ignored. You don’t want to take care of your tenants and act like you do just so that you can fill up the empty apartments and never take care of the people occupying. You deliberately ignore the safety and well being of the tenants. Your tenants are neither being paid nor are you full time hired maintenance workers. You guys suck and I hope you go out of business. No one deserved to be treated like the way you treat your tenants. I mean look at the video posted, does that look like a positive experience or bare minimum livable conditions?

I had a terrible experience living at Karbon in Newcastle, WA, and I want to warn potential residents of the numerous issues I encountered. It was clear from the start that the management simply does not care about the property or its tenants.

Living in the C building was a nightmare. The door was constantly broken to go into the building when it was suppose to be key fob access only, lights were frequently out, and the hallways were never cleaned.

The trash situation was appalling, with overflowing bins and litter scattered everywhere. The garbage can for animal waste was so full that it fell off its hinges, creating a health hazard for both humans and animals. The leasing office was unresponsive and never addressed or resolved our concerns.

Also, there was only one trash can for three buildings, leading to constant overflow and illegal dumping. Despite having more trash cans at my new residence, my trash fees are cheaper than they were at Karbon. Car break-ins were frequent, and the management did not replace broken lights in the parking lot, exacerbating the problem.

They will nickel and dime you at every corner, even after leaving they will have no communication on any bills. Their collection notice for $328. They never called, emailed, or sent any mail regarding the amount owed. No effort was made to notify me of the issue, and I only found out when my credit score dropped due to the collection notice. If they had contacted me even once, I would have paid the amount immediately. We never missed one rent payment or ever had any issues and the first thing they do is send it right to collections, never once calling me to inform me of the payment. It sucks that such a small amount has caused a mark on my credit history, the first mark against it.

On a positive note, Newcastle is a beautiful area with many other, better properties to consider. I strongly advise against living at Karbon apartment and recommend exploring other options in the neighborhood. With a bit of care and attention from the owners, this place could have been great, but sadly, they seem to have given up on Karbon. Don't make the same mistake I did; choose a different place to call home.

Dale is a fantastic Maintenence guy, he’s fixed more problems within a month than the last guy did with a year.

This place on the other hand makes us pay $75 a month for a broken garage, they never fix it, it’s open most of the year. They should gut it and replace it but instead they continue to try to fix a defective gate. Long time residents are leaving in droves because of managements incapability to be competent. Most residents in building A are fed up because of their incapability to fix the gate, but continue to charge us $75 a month for a spot there. We’re paying for the gate you morons!

Lived here a few years back and didn’t have the energy to leave this review after the hell they put us through, still seems to be the dumpiest apartments alive and honestly I feel that people should know.
Absolutely shocked they haven’t been shut down due to safety concerns, poor management or mold infestation. They don’t care about you at all either, we didn’t even have any management towards the end of our time there. Had to go across the street to drop off our keys.
All of the other 1 star reviews are VERY accurate. This place is the worst and should honestly be torn down, nasty.

We have been living here almost a year

Pros
good location.
Spiders are your roommates.

Cons
super slow on basic maintenance- the lights were off over few months.
Unexpected smells of weeds although it is smoke free building.
Only one trash and recycles bins for almost 280 households.

[Edit after review] 01/03/2021
Although they say they can fix problems, I cannot bring these problems to them because they never answer the call, and agents are not in the office.
So, basically there is no way you can handle the problem.

Recently moved out after living here for 1 year. I have never had a poor experience in a rental community and have always had my security deposit returned before moving here…

-Constant FALSE FIRE ALARMS at night (10-15 times per month)
-overflowing GARBAGE DUMPSTERS and garbage all over property
-poor and last minute communication from the management team on construction and property maintenances that causes inconveniences
-maintenance team does not respond to requests
-apartment was DIRTY upon move in with hair painted over in bedrooms and bathrooms
-I paid a pro cleaning company to clean apartment before moving out and was STILL CHARGED $350 for cleaning and carpet cleaning
-Sent to collections for $50 for no clear reasons
-Janessa was DISHONEST about move in costs and just an overall terrible employee
-the current manager does not accept ownership of issues and just blames previous leaders
-lots of cars broken into and emergency calls
-too much to handle for this management team

This place is advertised as a luxury apartment but the building is old and barely holding on.

DON’T MAKE THE MISTAKE THAT I DID
