Our experience here has been a complete disappointment compared to when we did the tour. The management of this property has been inconsistent, and they have proven they care more about appearances rather than functionality and satisfaction. Reading all of these negative reviews, people who have experienced similar things are completely accurate. The complex has POOR communication. This property is NOT worth it. Repainting, planting new flowers, and living near Seattle is not enough reason to create a façade of a living environment.
Here is a list of some of the things we have been navigating over the last year:
We were told to pick up our keys, but when we arrived at the office they were completely unprepared for us. We had to resign our lease at least four times because the apartment manager, Kyle G, could not send the correct information including unit #, resident names, appropriate fees, lease addendum, etc. We completed a move in inspection, on our newly renovated unit, and there were 14 items to be reviewed. The maintenance staff had not confirmed the unit was ready and management did not verify prior to moving in. People came into our unit the day after moving in and said they hadn't finished. There was no follow up on our maintenance items that needed to be ordered that had been damaged prior to moving in.
The complex had a team come in to repaint the property. They began painting the entry way between all of the apartments and gave NO NOTICE. They simply placed wooden boards down and expected us to be like pirates and "walk the plank." I had gone to take my dog outside, and we had no idea about the paint, so he stepped in it. I had to bring him back inside, so now we have paw prints near our front door. The fumes were also incredibly overwhelming.
Despite moving in with an unfinished unit they decided to extend our back porch with absolutely no notice or communication. At one point our entire back porch was just wood slats, nails, and other construction garbage all over the gravel. I have had to go through several times to clean up because maintain and remodel crews leave all of their trash and debris here.
The extra fees at this complex are outrageous: monthly locker & locker setup fee, required valet trash, pest, parking, and a combined utility approach to the units. Our packages are still delivered to our front door even though we are charged a required locker fee. We kill our own spiders, wipe bugs off of the windowsills, and have seen several mice that have died in front of our back porch. Residents end up leaving trash by the mailbox because the valet contractors are inconsistent. Trash in general is overflowing and ugly. The trash used to be enclosed which hid the overflow during trash days, but now it's everywhere. It's disgusting and smells. We pay a fee every month for both of us to park. There is no gate and management has refused to put in the resources for a security camera system. There was an incident on the day we moved in which led to them having a security company drive by the complex. We've only seen them twicec in the last eight months.
Maintenance has been inconsistent for 5 months. For the longest time they did not follow through on requests or have staff to respond to the emergency line. Our shower drain had been clogged for 11 days and there was no communication from management. Our second shower has not be usable since March (two months), and we have reached out several times. They even cancelled one of our requests without notice to, or approval from, us. Kevin is kind and doing his best, but the follow through and function of the property is not ideal.
Lastly, they advertise "Pet Friendly”, but they are not. If you want to walk your dog anywhere decent you have to run across the road or walk by the Ecolodge. They added a small 10x10 patch of turf where the pool used to be, but they do not keep up on maintenance, so it gets full of dog diarrhea. Poop constantly gets left by residents.
Pictures added below that tell a story of our experience here.
