The sales rep, if you want to call him that, didn't even greet me. Greeted my wife only. Instead of welcoming us and helping first time buyers, he just repeatedly kept saying "well did you go online on our website?" A sales person is supposed to sell themselves, the company, and the product. Not tell the customers to go online and not give suggestions. The whole experience was uncomfortable and unhelpful. I didn't even know the saleman's name until I left. I had to look at his card just to see what his name was. His name was Rob. Very unpleasant experience and put my wife and I in a bad mood. Looking for your first house is supposed to be exciting. Will never recommend Maronda to anyone.

Maronda has quite a production-line-style building empire, and the homes built are, for the most part, attractive. People seem to love buying them, as they tend to be more affordable than custom-built homes.

My issue with Maronda is that they leave certain details to the homeowner in order to make their new homes appear more affordable. These details include decking and porches, front and back steps, and landscaping.

All of these things become necessary for the homeowner -- who wants to live in a home with French doors leading to...nothing except an ugly "gate" across the space where a deck or porch should exist.

Their temporary front and back stairs are extremely temporarily functional, as they settle and shift quickly. As a professional who visits these homes for clients who live in them, I have had several bad experiences with front steps at these homes that have settled to the level of becoming dangerous within months of the home being built.

Leaving landscaping to the homeowner is a recipe for poor curb appeal, as some will do what is necessary and others will do nothing.

The custom-built homes I visit as part of my profession include all of these things in the purchase price -- which is ultimately easier on the homeowner, as taking an additional $3-5k on a mortgage is infinitely easier than trying to afford upgra

I have lived here for over a year and have not talked to one person who is happy.
My issue is the sorry pathetic way they do your "starter lawn" i now have to pay thousands to get the huge boulders out of mylawn ,lawnscaping company is a pure joke. What ever happened to pride in your work !!!! Not at maranda
