Just money hungry company. Not a local good business. Make crazy charges and and wait 5 months to do it. $257 for a sink stopper and frig drawer is ridiculous especially when it was like that when I moved in. Don't deal with this company if at all possible. They will just try to screw you. By the way it is illegal to charge for this as almost 5 months have passed since I moved out. What is the company trying to pull here. Talk about deceptive practices. I also gave ypu the apartment back a week early. And this is how you treat me. Just wow. Class act

They contacted me to tell me they still think I owe them for bogus charges. Thanks and no thanks. Don't do business with this company. You just don't do it.

Well the BBB which Douglass is not registered with has filed my complaint. Going back and forth for the last couple weeks. This company should care more for there community and people. Instead they nickel and dime and harass there tenants with petty made up lies just for more money. JUST DON'T BOTHER DOING BUSINESS WITH DOUGLASS, YOU WILL REGRET IT.

Do not rent from Douglass Properties. In early 2021 we transferred units in the same complex, and our friend ended up being the new tenant in our old apartment. We got an almost $700 bill in the mail for “replacements and fixes” in our old unit that our $500 deposit for some reason also didn’t cover. We were shocked, as we kept the unit clean and always had the maintenance crew in and out due to several issues. We went into our old unit to inspect closely at the items we were charged for, and nothing they charged us for actually got replaced.
We did have a puppy that decided to chew corners of the wall trim, and we were honest and open about paying that. It was literally the only thing that got fixed in the unit. However, everything else on the bill was completely incorrect.
We decided to dispute the bill, and the billing department said they would itemize and send another bill (to then dispute again), and we never received one. Fast forward to September of 2024, and the Estate of Harlan Douglass is trying to collect the same original debt that we disputed in 2021 when we received the bill and we were told it was going to get taken care of. I am extremely frustrated and I advise everyone to not rent from their property management or their affiliates.

This company has a very lucrative scam going on. I know half the things that they do and the tactics that they use to get more money out of you can't be legal. They don't care about their tenants it's all about the money for them! I would suggest you do not rent from this company. They're sneaky and underhanded

Horrible customer service and management. Not only will they take a very large "non-refunable" deposit, when you move out they will nickle and dime you for every last thing. We we received an invoice 4 months after move out for nit picky normal wear and tear. $49 for carpet odor treatment with no odor identified at moveout? $25 to process pictures? $1.16 for a light bulb? $118 to replace some plastic blinds that weren't broken at move out? Ridiculous!! The apartment was left in spotless condition. It is highway robbery. DO NOT RENT FROM DOUGLASS PROPERTIES!

I paid the application fee and a week later I was informed that the could not take my application because I have yet to move out of my present apartment ,which is also owned by the LGD property management, Inc.. My present apartment now needs to go through a damage assessment before I can apply at any of their other properties. Had this been explained to me at my first inquire I would not have applied. So you need to find a short term place to stay while they do the damage assessment which could take up to a week or so to even get to. Beware of appartments complexes managed by LGD!

I’m being charged 185 dollars for a water filter that I proved to the management by providing the packaging and receipt for proof of date of purchase. This is unacceptable.

After calling their main office, they say they have no way to prove that that was the actual filter put in the the refrigerator.

I’ve really enjoyed my time here and the units I’ve rented. The staff are fantastic and maintenance happens with great haste. But to be charged for this is ridiculous.

The place is great but severely overpriced now and then to add that on top, I’ll pass. I’ll be putting in my notice to break the lease.

Douglas property management company are absolute grifters! They wanted to jack up my rent $200 at renewal while still advertising the same apartment to newer customers at lower rate. I’ve never seen anything like this!

Move here if you want to get charged $1400 upon move out for “pictures and developing”, and have the male apartment manager make unprofessional comments about other people’s apartment to ME during walkthrough. What are you saying about my apartment then? He will then proceed to open your closets in bathrooms and bedrooms without clarifying or checking first, to make sure there’s no “wall damage”. Right. Brix Apartments in the Valley. Expressed concern to management, nothing was resolved.
