I had a wonderful experience during the time I leased with Capital Companies. I spent roughly a year and a half in a cozy studio apartment in downtown Albany. The apartment was well maintained, clean, and vibrant. I was treated with the utmost care from day one, and their easy to use website permitted for online rent payments and maintenance requests. The couple times there was need for a maintenance request the staff handled the matter as if it was their own home. I highly recommend leasing with Capital Companies to anyone who may be looking.

Fantastic company! They were very helpful and accommodating throughout the entire process from showing to leasing to move in, and even when I need maintenance work done it is always done quickly. The apartment is beautiful and secure. I plan on renewing my lease this year. Highly recommend.

Amazing company! Online portal made paying for student rent easy and enabled us to put in maintenance requests with fast communication. Put in a request for washing machine to be fixed and came a day later to resolve the problem. Communication between property manager was quick and efficient, I was able to move in fast with no problems at all!

I highly recommend if you want to move in Downtown Albany!!

I have had an incredibly disappointing experience with this management company. Maintenance requests are ignored, I’ve had to call them repeatedly and make threats about withholding rent to get basic things done, like fixing the washing machine that breaks on a weekly basis. Also, they freely enter your unit with their key, which has caused me to wake up with strange people in my house or getting locked out of my house. Their units have pest problems, which they will lie to you about to get you to rent. Horrific management company, avoid them at all costs and rent from somewhere else.

Moved in May 2018. They took 4 months to fix the the laundry machines. There's a broken sewage pipe in the basement laundry room and there's literally raw human sewage in the place where I do my washing. Our house is infested with mice and we constantly have to clean mouse droppings and urine from our kitchen drawers. The landlord is completely unresponsive unless we threaten to withhold rent. The doors are ancient and are literally falling from their hinges, we could get robbed by a teletubby, the house is that insecure. The fittings and fixtures are cheap and fragile, the bathroom mirror, rack and cupboard are falling apart. Our downstairs neighbors (under the same company) had to spend their first 2 months without hot water.

If you're planning to move in to one of their properties dont expect them to clean your apartment in advance. This company is a malignant cancer. Its run by the most incompetent people in the modern world.

Have been renting from this company for the past two years. Always had positive experiences and appreciated the speed and efficacy their maintenance works had when dealing with work orders. The online portal made it incredibly easy to put in those orders and pay rent or get in contact with the staff.

My brother his wife and 2 kids rent from them. They have an apartment infested with squirrels. They have complained about this for over a year. While the company has made minor corrections they haven't addressed the problem as a whole. The squirrels finally made it through the ceiling. One light has shorted out. I've personally heard them digging in the walls. They have kids and I'm worried their apartment is going to go up in flames from the squirrels chewing through their wires. I'm also wondering about the animal urine and feces in the walls.

I am very surprised this company has dragged their feet for this. Assisting my brother with legal advice.

Worst renting experience. Maintenance takes forever to fix simple things. Any damages to the house that you see before renting, it's not going to get fixed. There's holes in the door which they dont fix. Holes on the windows, floors cracked. I called to discuss that, and was told that its just "cosmetic" and that I saw what I was renting before I signed the lease. They act nice during showing to get you to sign the lease, they tell you multiple people are interested to pressure you to sign the lease. Once the lease is signed thats it you don't get any response from them.
