I work in the real estate development industry and buy property all across Vermont. Me and my wife used her for our personal home search... and I'm writing this anonymously because Allison is the type of person to retaliate.

Working with Allison was the worst decision I made during my home buying process. From the get-go, she was unprofessional and disorganized. She consistently missed deadlines, ignored my calls and emails, and seemed more interested in her commission than finding the right home for me.

Allison showed me properties that were way out of my budget, despite my clear instructions. She wasted my time with houses that didn’t even meet my basic criteria, making me feel like she wasn’t listening to a word I said. When she did respond to my inquiries, she was often rude and condescending, making me feel like a burden rather than a valued client.

Her lack of knowledge about the market and the properties she was showing was astonishing. She couldn’t answer basic questions and often provided incorrect or misleading information.

In the end, I had to find another realtor to clean up her mess and help me find the right home. I would never recommend Allison to anyone looking for a professional, knowledgeable, and respectful real estate agent. She turned what should have been an exciting experience into a complete nightmare. Avoid her at all costs!

I'm not sure if she's just old and bitter or if she's always been this unprofessional and rude. If so, I wish I was a client of her's 20 years ago!

Alison was excellent. She was incredibly knowledgeable, honest, and fair in helping us purchase our first home. We had a lot of questions and wanted to see a variety of properties as we determined what was important to us; she was patient and eager to help. She made herself available to us throughout the closing process, and checked in regularly with all involved parties to ensure everything stayed on track.

Selling my first home was a huge undertaking. I engaged Alison McCullough as my realtor. From day one, walking through my property, she put me at ease highlighting what needed to be done before enabling the listing (prioritizing things for me, a working professional) . Then we had plenty of showings, adjusted the price, and sold from our first offer. Alison answered emails at all times of the day, phone calls always were answered and follow ups were always prioritized for me. I found the process, which is huge just by itself, a lot easier because we had Alison. I would not hesitate to recommend her for both sale and purchase; she knows the area she services and really helped us understand the WHY of each step which for me was the best part!

We contacted Allison about a property & asked via email, when she'd be available to show it, she responded quickly with a day and time that worked for her, so we chose from those days & times. The showing day came & we received a message saying she'd be late, (no big deal we all have things happen in our lives that we have no control over) we were told to look around outside till she arrived. She finally arrived more than 10 minutes late, but took another 10 minutes to get the door unlocked and open, then never introduced herself, we had to. Finally, after getting in, she says "the property has some potential I suppose" then says "go ahead and look around" while she sat in the large bay window on her cell phone the whole entire time.  On our way out of the property she asked if we shut all of the lights off, & if we missed any, to run back up & shut them off. After locking the door (another 10 minute episode where my husband had to shine a light for her to see) she was ready to hop in her car and go, so I said, before she left, "we'll be in touch about the property & thank you for showing us it." 3 days later I received an email asking "let me know where you are with the showing on Friday?" So I responded back saying "Allison,  we have decided on another property already. Thank you for your help." In return her response was " That was very disrespectful of you, as I went out of my way to accommodate you even though my family had just buried 2 children.
You have taught me a very valuable lessons and will never ever be overly nice to un loyal buyers.
Thank you, Alison"
I'm not sure how we were being accommodated or how she went out of her way for us when we were given days & times that worked for her, then picked from those days & times? I also don't see how I was disrespectful, or how her personal life & the things she's going through have anything to do with me or the property?  I haven't had the greatest year myself,  burying my grandmother on Easter, & recently my daughter's 13 year old, best friend committed suicide. My daughter's a complete wreck from her death and it's taking all my husband and I have to keep her from doing the same as her friend. On top of all of this we're looking for our first home together.  Allison was very nice at first, but please beware if you decide NOT to purchase the property she's showing you, she'll become rude, nasty, and completely unprofessional. My experience with her has been, to say the least, horrible. I'd like to thank her for the lovely, first time, experience in home buying,  she's made our first time looking for a property unforgettable.

Alison was willing to show us 29 homes all over VT. We ended up buying # 27 in Proctor.
Alison is willing to work hard to please her customers. Something special Alison is caring and polite, a rare combination for these days.

Finding Ms. McCullough as my “new” agent was one of the BEST decisions I ever made. Not only is Ms. McCullough a consummate professional, she is very understanding, kind, compassionate, friendly, hardworking & very knowledgeable regarding home selling/buying. I realize we are entitled to our opinions however I was taken aback by a previous review that I feel was so egregious & hurtful to Ms. McCullough’s reputation that when I read it, I did a thorough investigation on my own & found that that review was (as far as I’m concerned) so untrue based on another persons opinion that I DO NOT agree with it at all, especially since I’m in the process of selling my home, so as a seller you take other peoples opinions very seriously. Since smartening up & having Ms. McCullough as my agent, I had so many showings & offers in the first week & steadily after that (in contract along with a few offers) especially since another realtor I had hired before (I smartened up) & Ms. McCullough agreed to represent me, had only three showings in six months with my previous agent. Needless to say not only do I disagree with that “egregious” review, I would shout it from the mountaintops here in Vermont “if you want a hardworking, compassionate, friendly, kind, understanding & very knowledgeable professional” request Ms. McCullough to represent you in either your home buying or selling process, believe me, it will not only be the smartest decision you make, but it will be advantageous to yourself.

Genuinely kind and patient. Very simple, efficient and non judgy. I was not ignored for being a low profit margin prospect. I wasn't hounded or pressured either. They understand that a good impression is everything and deliver on it.
