We loved our campsite number 10 right on the creek. But I think they're pretty much all right on the creek. Our stretch of the campground had sites 8-12 and we were the only one in this stretch, and it was awesome.

As others have noted, the campground is very dusty/sandy, so I had been trying to get a spot that wouldn't be passed by many cars, and number 10 was great.

There was an outhouse nearby, and I had seen a couple of other ones on our drive to the site. No water is available at this campground - unless you want to count Baker Creek, which had a lot more water in it than I thought it would (the dogs loved splashing around in it!). The campsites had picnic tables and fire rings

The campground was quiet, except for the babble of the creek, and I felt safe there. The stars were incredible.

What a hidden gem.

It’s on the corner from a gas station and a fantastic BBQ spot. Only 20 min from Bishop and about an hour away from all the lakes you can hike along.

The bathrooms were SO CLEAN! There is a creak for easy access to water so you can save the area from fires. But bring your own potable water for cooking and cleaning.

Excellent views of the stars! Reservation was a breeze and very well-maintained.

Stayed one night in mid-April. Slept in our minivan. The weather was pleasant - not too hot or cold. Found a site close to the restrooms.

Pros: 15-20 mins out of town, the creeks are pretty and provide white noise so you don't really hear other campers across the way, plenty of trails, fairly quiet, bathrooms are clean. There are trash and recycling bins as well. Our fur baby enjoyed exploring around our little spot.

Cons: Not all tent sites are level, roads are dusty and rutted. Tent sites are close together so in the high season I can imagine it getting pretty cozy with your neighbours.

Our table at tent site #24 was pretty sloped. We parked some larger rocks underneath the low end to level it out.

The creek was running pretty high so it was fairly loud. If the sound of running water triggers you to get up in the middle of the night to pee, you might find a spot where it is not running so fast 😉

It was also a little buggy, spent ten minutes chasing down a kamakazi mosquito before we could fall asleep!

We drove around in the morning and found areas (almost lots) where RVs were parked.

All in all, a reasonably pleasant stay for this first time camper.

Wow! I rolled up here at sunset on a Saturday night in the summer and was amazed to find a whole jumble of spots to choose from. Sure it was 102° but still, everywhere in CA is right now. I appreciated the natural sound machine that was already set to "bustling creek" with the occasional song bird in the background. Everything was wonderful and there is a really nice playground down the road for those who want to play around. I loved this campground and it was the FIRST place out of two months of camping that I felt safe enough from bears to sleep in my open sky tent instead of my car.

Came camping for Memorial Day weekend, we had spots 14,15,16 which says it’s walk in sites. You can park pretty close and cross a 2’ wide 6’ bridge to get to the campsites, there’s only 2 entrance to the little island so if you have site 14 and people you don’t know have the other sites they will be walking through your site the entire trip. Really pretty area, for fishing you have the two ponds which people flock to whether they are. Amping or just swing by to fish so it does get crowded . There are soothing creeks by your tent the water. Was pretty fast moving so no fishing for us and then it was windy. Wildlife was no problem except one night the trash pandas (raccoons) came and got into some chips . Rangers did a good job site was clean and so were restrooms. There is no water onsite so bring your own and the chevron in town sells fishing licenses ! That’s all I got have fun

A sweet little camp ground. With fishing spots. (And the hooks left in the water-don't step in barefoot)
It would be a great place for kids were it not for all the anglers roaming your campspot next to the water. There's no privacy from them here.

First time staying here. It was really nice.

A recommendation: Make sure you book a spot ahead of time. We were lucky to find an empty available walk-up spot.
