If I could give negative stars I would. Worst landlord we have ever had. Will not put anything in writing so there is no paper trail to hold him accountable. Will promise to fix things around the property then fail to do anything, but will tell you the rent is going up. Will wait till 9-10pm to tell you that he's coming over the next day at 9-10am. Communication is not something you will get with him, you'd have better luck talking to a wall.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!! worst landlord I have dealt with, doesn’t respond to phone calls, and when does it’s weeks later, doesn’t care about his tenants just the rent payments. had furnace go out and finally after getting ahold of him after two days he offered to bring over space heaters, furnace guy showed up and said the furnace needs to be replaced due to a cracked plenum, he refused to replace furnace, just new blower motor(still has a cracked plenum) water heater started leaking, I made him aware of it, month and a half later it finally let loose and was a big leak, went three days and a phone call to the health department to finally get it replace. If you know the definition of a slumlord you would find him to wear the shoes. I would not recommend him to be your landlord or your realtor. Attached is pictures and take notes of the dates!!

Barry had a place listed for more than a week when I contacted him about it. He was Extremely slow to respond and when your moving to an area ya kinda need realtors to be prompt. I heard from him 1 time in 10 days, he was reading my messages but not responding. When I finally got him to respond he asked me for info I had already given in my messages. I expressed I wanted to secure a place while I was in the area but he still just blew me off. In fact, I sent one last message on my way to the area trying to get together and he didn't even read it for 5 days! I went by the place and, even tho it had been on the market for nearly a month, when I looked in the windows there was a toilet sitting in the living room, trim laying all around, and it was much more run down than the pictures showed. They may have been old pics.
I ended up signing on my 2nd choice, and after reading some of these reviews I think I dodged a bullet. Definitely would Not recommend.

Lived in an apartment with any kind of issues you could think of. Mouse infestation, wasp infestation, no o2 sensor (the empty box of an o2 sensor was there when I moved in, but must have only been temporarily installed to pass an inspection), a screen door that never shuts, no functioning A.C unit, etc. It simply had an endless amount of issues, something new every week. I contacted Barry Newlun twice, once for the wasp infestation (at least two entering my apartment per day for at least a month) and a mouse infestation. His response to the wasp infestation was "that's happening to everyone this time of year" and I'd tell you his response to the mouse infestation if he ever gave me one. I'm kind enough to give two stars because the apartment was cheap.
