"The Republican party's plan includes curbing “unnecessary” housing regulations"
I cannot wait to get rid of unnecessary permitting. Permits for this permits for that so unnecessary. This will help more people stay in California.

As a professional conducting business in the City of Belmont I am appalled at the Planning Department and Building Department. I have encountered a dismissive and extremely rude attitude by many of the people that work there. Mark A. Nolfi the Chief Building Officer talks in a loud voice with a tone that is threatening & unprofessional. Multiple times he has been extremely short and abrupt telling other employees to leave and wanting to not engage. Rob Gill the Associate Planner also employs tactics to be as short as possible and not answer questions in the full and proper manner during counter hours. All of this is sad, however as the saying goes "the fish rots from the head down". Carlos De Melo the Community Development Director has failed in his leadership position and capitulated time and again to the demands of a small but vocal faction of voters in Belmont. Instead of providing true leadership and making the planning & building process in Belmont one that promotes a better City, Mr. De Melo has chosen the easy path. Damon Di Donato has however been very helpful and seems to be very knowledgable and respectful.
