The cabin is stocked with so many essential items that it makes it feel like you are at home. We had 3 people, but could have comfortably slept 6 in there. After staying in over two dozen different cabins in Big Bear, I can say without hesitation that staying there is easily one of my top 3 experiences.

A Nightmare Stay: Wine Down

I believe, I was blocked from responding to your response of my review. You respond is trying to acknowledge our experience while also downplaying it by emphasizing on the “REFUND”. For one night from 12 day stay and the reimbursement. Linens that we purchase, but fell to mention that those lining was left in the cabin! On January 2, 2025 at 9:22 AM at checkout, which was at 10 AM!

The property was not just lacking basic amenities - it was in an unsanitary and unlivable state, with strong odors, dirty carpets, and an overall lack of proper maintenance.

While the reservation holder may have accepted the resolution offered, that does not change the fact that the home should never have been rented in that condition. It's concerning that this property was listed at all, as it clearly did not meet reasonable cleanliness and hygiene standards. I urge your company to take this seriously and remove properties that fail to meet proper living conditions so no one else has to experience what we did. A refund does not fix the core issue ensuring that no future guests have to endure such conditions does."!

If you reading this post, I urge you to every time you visit a hotel, a Airbnb and even a private home. Remove the pillowcase check your linens, and see what you are sleeping on!

This was such a wonderful stay. The cabin is so cute and cozy! Everything one could need to be comfortable is available! There is plenty of working heaters, fully stocked kitchen, comfy sofa, and It was clean, presentable, and modern. The neighborhood is safe and welcoming. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend the night.

Everything was perfect. The cabin was so clean and perfect for our romantic Valentine’s Day get away with another couple that we are close friends with. The only complaint I have is that at 10:50 am the cleaning crew arrived and we were just finishing up packing and cleaning up to leave at exactly 11am. They were in our way and I was getting confused at which trash bag was ours with our laundry to take home and their trash bag with the sheets they pulled off etc. the need to arrive at 11:05 am to allow the guest to make sure they got everything and not feel stressed out with 3 strangers cleaning while you are trying to leave and be organized! Other than that we had a fabulous time.

The cabin as well as the booking process were pleasant! The neighborhood was nice and quiet, which was great. I loved that it was a gated/fenced property and was able to leave our fur baby outside to roam around. We will definitely book again and recommend this cabin to anyone in search of a weekend getaway!

We had a blast during our stay at Cool Cabins. The cabin is super close to the slopes, around 6 mins walking. Kitchen, bedroom, and restrooms are clean and well-stocked.
We love that the hidden stairway to access to 2 bedrooms. Also the kitchen and living room are connected that make the cabin is spacious. The host is very attentive and supportive. Also, there is a “private slope” in the backyard and little playground that is great for family with young kiddos.
Highly recommend to everyone. Thank you for hosting us. We definitely comeback so many next times.

Brand new and very modern luxury cabin!!! We had a party of four stay at the cabin it we were blown away how nice this place is. You have 2 bedrooms upstairs and 2 bedrooms downstairs. One of the bedrooms downstairs has an awesome bunk bed with queen beds.
We spent a night playing ping pong and shuffle puck after we had taken a quick walk to the Big Bear Village that is only 10 mins away walk away.
If you want to rent bikes, there is a place right across the street. This place is super kid friendly and the kitchen is really modern with all the cooking equipment.
This place is definitely the most luxurious cabin we have stayed in Big Bear.

To Whom It May Concern at Big Bear Cool Cabins ,

I am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment and outrage regarding my recent rental experience with your company. My family and I booked the “Wine Down” cabin for a 12-day stay in December 2024 for Christmas and New Year’s, expecting a comfortable and clean vacation home. Instead, what we walked into was an absolute nightmare.

After a five-hour flight and a two-and-a-half-hour drive from LAX to Big Bear City, we were met with a cabin that was completely unacceptable—filthy, rundown, and unfit for guests. The house was in deplorable condition, with:
• Dirty, mismatched, and stained linens, including bodily fluids on the pillowcases
• A foul smell throughout the house, resembling a neglected pet home
• A visibly dirty couch covered in stains, making it impossible to sit on
• Greasy, unwashed pots and pans, requiring us to scrub everything before use
• Broken, squeaky beds that seemed like they were picked up from a yard sale
• Surfaces, including doorknobs and walls, that had to be deep cleaned upon arrival
• Extra blankets and pillows that were not only mismatched but also dirty
• A spider infestation—killing at least three spiders daily in the master bedroom alone

Instead of settling in and enjoying our holiday, we were forced to spend the night scrubbing and disinfecting the entire house, washing every dish, linen, and surface just to make the place livable. We even had to spend $355-$400 on new linens, pillows, and cleaning supplies—something no paying guest should ever have to do. On top of that, we had to act as exterminators, dealing with spiders daily in the bedroom and even inside extra blankets and pillows.

It is clear that no one from your company has inspected this property, nor do you maintain any standard of cleanliness or quality for your rentals. The conditions were so appalling that I would not even give this place a one-star review. Motel 6 would have been a far superior choice.

To make matters worse, the booking was non-refundable, meaning we were left with no choice but to endure this disgusting and unprofessional situation. Your company failed us completely as paying customers, and I expect an immediate resolution. I demand a full refund and a formal response explaining how you allowed such an unacceptable rental to be offered to guests.

I will be sharing my experience publicly so that others are not misled into booking with your company.

I look forward to your prompt response. Although it seems you only respond to five stars reviews.
