I am a current tenant at Mason Avenue Apartments. Here is a copy of my review for that place: When I moved in, they were very attentive to me and helpful--and no wonder they wanted me to write a review right away. Since living here for the past year, the staff (whoever they may be) have been extremely UNavailable. I had a bat in my apartment in August and could not get in contact with anybody. Animal Control came and removed it and myself and my pet were fine, but nobody from the building reached out or followed up. I put in a maintenance request to address the hole it came from (which I cannot see due to the radiator pipe) but it was simply deleted after they stuffed some steel wool where the bat was FOUND. Not where it came from. Just to be clear, the bat is only the latest pest--they have mice and roaches, constantly. It's like living in that old movie, Joe's Apartment. Disgusting. They clearly have no incentive to care about this place, because there will always be people looking to move in to Del Ray at an affordable rate, and you can tell they don't care. It is a predatory place. When you try to call the number to check up on requests or just talk to someone, the phone only rings and then hangs up, with no option for voicemail or anything.

I began my lease renewal process on 5/12 and never received a follow up. Today I received a message stating that I will owe 9k for month to month rent. I called the front office, and the temp property manager stated her computer hasn't worked and she has no POC to resolve the problem. I have tried the leasing office, corporate office, office of investor relations to get this resolved and have not heard from anyone.
I don't know what happened to bonaventure but I the quality of service that made this place great has absolutely plummeted to where I can't even get my lease renewed correctly and is putting me massively at risk.

I have been residing at a Bonaventure senior property for almost two years now. I have an issue with being harassed for $2.00 which I do not owe.
The amount of my money order was entered for the incorrect amount by a staff member of the leasing office.
The copy of the money order and the stub shows the correct amount. I have called the leasing office several times to resolve this issue. I've also visited the leasing office in person and was told not to worry, they'll take care of it.
I've received several emails stating that I owe them $2.00. I've also had letters attached to my door with the most recent stating that legal actions or termination of my lease if the $2.00 is not paid.
I called the corporate office and was told that someone would return my call; that didn't happen. The leasing office staff stated that everything was taken care of and not to worry and I will not receive anything further.......so, why am I still receiving emails and having correspondence placed on my door? Embarrassing!
Whenever I go to the leasing office, I'm given the brush off and fake reassurance.
Is this how senior citizens are regarded at these properties?
Needless to say, I am very disappointed and this is causing me stress because a copy of the money order is in their system and I showed them the stub.
I've been very patient and this issue needs to be immediately resolved by Bonaventure.

Would NOT recommend at all.
We have lived at the Encore for almost a year. We had some issues moving in (cause by the company, not us) but the manager at the time, Courtney, was absolutely wonderful. Since she has left the management has been absolutely horrible. It took over 3 weeks to get my washer fixed. Somebody had come to look at it after 2 weeks (which is still unacceptably long when I am paying more to have in unit washer and drier) was rude, said there was nothing wrong, and left. Well it was still broken. Too my going to the office several days in a row to get them to send somebody to actually fix it. We just got our lease renewal and they are increasing our rent close to $100 a month. This is unreasonable for several reasons including the issues with maintenance, we were also promised grills at the new pool deck which were never installed (we grill, well used to, a lot), they did a horrible job resurfacing the parking lot, we have to pay for valet trash which we cant opt out of, we have had many neighbors in the less than 12 months we have lived here, and more. All this and they are asking us for more money.
Even worse when I look online at their available apartments some apartments with better features including having a first floor premium are $95 cheaper than the new rent they are asking us for.
We are currently researching better places to move too and have had no issue finding other apartment complexes with the same affordability. Please save yourself time and look elsewhere.

Bonaventure took over the management of my old apartment building, Vida East in Richmond VA. After I moved out, I received a "Move out" invoice from them, with an incorrect amount. I have tried reaching them by email and by being transferred by Vida East's office multiple times. They're very good at emailing and leaving voicemails, but forget the important role of basic "customer service" when it comes to the customer's needs.

I was a resident at a Bonaventure apartment property for approximately three years while living in Northern Virginia.
My five star rating is specifically for the team affiliated with "Bonaventurelistens". After months of struggling to get anyone from my former apartment complex to help me with my missing security deposit refund, I took a chance and sent an email to the account that had been replying directly to people's negative reviews via Google.
I sent an email to the Bonaventurelistens distro and received a personalized, non-automated reply within six hours. After struggling for months to get any response, this quick turnaround was amazing. I worked with Yaw, who competently acknowledged my email and promised a follow-up on the situation by the next business day. By the end of the following day (Friday), Yaw pinpointed the issue within the accounting department and informed me that a replacement check would be mailed to me no later than Monday.
On Monday I received the check in the mail, which was extremely fast, considering that I didn't expect it to get mailed until Monday at the earliest, much less arrive by then.
I am not writing this review purely because I got what I was hoping to from the exchange (i.e., my security deposit). I am writing this review in the hopes that Yaw is recognized for the professionalism, competence, and courtesy I received AFTER I ceased to be a direct customer of the company.
(I was not compensated or prompted in any way for this review)

I’m a tenant at the encore apartment.
Horrible place to live and trying seek help from here as the corporate office is a complete waste of time. I’ve been battling mice for 4 months, I’m sure since move in because I saw the mice poop but never actually seen them physically until 4 months into my lease. From move in until now there has been problems that they drag there feet to solve or attempt but ineffective. They hired a new pest control that’s worst than the first 1 now refuse to release me from my lease while they figure out the cause of the problem as I have already given the 4 months to fix it.

I tell you what, ya'll might be the worst property management company I have ever come in contact with. I am having some serious issues with my current Property Manager but it appears the corporate office is not much different. I have emailed Bon Aventure several times (and several people), sent in a message through your website, used Facebook messenger, and have called the number listed both on here and your website multiple times (it might help if you had a voicemail that wasn't full), and cannot get anyone to return my messages, which is almost comical considering that is part of my initial problem to begin with. There have been times where I have waited over A MONTH to get a response from my apartment complex, and only received a response after emailing and calling numerous times. And now they are trying to charge me additional fees because of lack of communication on the apartment complex's part (more specifically, an email that I waited TWELVE days to get a response to, and never did).
