Please, please beware that they will NOT allow you to break your lease. This makes it tricky for students!! Finding someone is not always viable, and they give you no option to break the lease like many other places do. If possible find another option.

Edit: I was finally able to find a replacement, and now they refuse to answer when I've told them about the broken application links. They stopped answering right after I paid an assignment fee as well. The fee was not cheap, and honestly this behavior is very scammy. I would give them absolutely 0 stars if I could.

Very impressed with the professionalism and responsiveness of the maintenance team. I had put a request in around 730pm for brush clean up on a Thursday and the service, very minor and no emergent was taken care of before I returned from work that Friday. The quick response was not only appreciated by me, but Im guessing the neighbors as well. It was a pretty big pile. I was more than happy to clear the brush, and even happier they came and picked it up for disposal so quickly.

I really can’t say enough about Candlewood Property Management. I had just moved to the area and the property I lived in was sold. I heard mixed reviews but knew I would see for myself. They are very attentive when I reach out with concerns. The maintenance team is top notch. When I wanted to move to I knew I wanted to find one of their properties that fit my needs and I am glad to say I did! My adult child moved to the area and is also a resident of one of their properties. I recommend them to anyone looking for excellent management services.

Recently moved out of a Candlewood property after a year of living there. I know there are mixed reviews of Candlewood, but I can say I have no serious complaints. I received my security deposit back in full; which I was very excited about, again considering the mixed reviews. But we cleaned the apartment from top to bottom before moving out and always took great care of it.

The only thing I have to mention is I don't love this loophole strategy they use to require a non-refundable pet deposit. Normally, they are illegal in Wisconsin unless written up into a contract in a very specific way. This $250 they require would not go towards any damages should your pet cause any. My dog only lived in the apartment for about 2 months. They did a walk-through after the dog moved out and put it in writing that there was no damage. Still, no hope of getting that $250 deposit as I signed it away as "non-refundable" which sucks, but it is what is, I guess.

Other than that, I have no issues. Pinnacle, who takes care of all maintenance requests, was always great and responded in a timely matter. The people in the office at Candlewood always did what they could to make sure tenants were comfortable and that the shared common spaces were kept tidy.

I ended up not renting through Candlewood because of the poor actions that happened before the lease was even signed. My boyfriend had previously rented through Candlewood 2 years ago and since we have been leasing with a different landlord. Last week we were looking to sign a sublease through Candlewood. When they sent back the update that we were denied we were very confused. They proceeded to tell us that my boyfriend had an outstanding balance at his old apartment through Candlewood that he wasn’t sent a single email about or phone call to notify him there was an outstanding balance. We were denied because this wasn’t paid, but we were never notified once that there was even a bill to pay. We have heard rumors from around the area that Candlewood is the worst place in Stevens Point to rent through and I’m happy we didn’t sign an additional lease through them. Very disappointing overall and will not be looking into another Candlewood apartment.

While you can never please everyone, there aren't many companies that will go the extra mile and absorb additional expenses to find every little area where they could make an improvement. That means and says a lot to me. Congratulations Candlewood on always trying to best your best!

Candlewood was great to deal with until we wanted to end our lease due to buying a house. We let them know in September our plans. We had just resigned at the end of July for another year as we weren’t expecting to find a house. Yes, we broke our lease but fees are not disclosed and in the lease the sublet fee is $150. They charge $250 if you market and show it yourself. If you have them do all the work it’s $750. Again, the fees should be specifically disclosed in the lease. Our property we rented was sold and then took over by Candlewood. We had no check in list previously and sent them a written list of what we saw. Yes, the carpet was never cleaned previously and there were also pets before us. Due to us not specifically stating there was pet stains, we were charged. Anyone we worked with from Candlewood, other than Jane was very condescending in their responses after us questioning all the fees. Pinnacle repairs is who they contract out to do repairs, Pinnacle has been great to deal with. Id recommend trying to do better by your customers. Especially when your website states you will do anything to help find a solution or avoid legal matters. We don’t expect for free things. We work very hard for what we have. We expect fairness. Never in my life have we had a security deposit that hasn’t been returned. What was left of ours was $17.78. That’s only because we already paid $250 of the $750 due to us initially trying to re assign the lease. This experience wouldn’t have been so awful if the customer service would’ve been better.
