I am being generous with the 2 stars. After moving in, I had one problem after another that required maintenance. Sewer backed up and into the house. He did not offer to have the house professionally sanitized. Just told me to use bleach. Heater went out in winter and was not offered space heaters to keep the house above 60F. Several complaints about the PG&E being abnormally high, after having PG&E come out several times, only to say it was on the house side and to talk to the landlord. Was told to run the house fan and open the windows. Turn up the thermostat so it doesn't run all the time. Nevermind that the HVAC guy had told him the whole system was over 20 years old and needed to be replaced. Came to do an inspection and assured us that maintenance would be out to fix the things we requested. Still waiting ...

He is the worst at communicating. Always has an excuse. Now refuses to give a rental reference without re-inspecting the property.

I rented a 1 bedroom from Mr. Castaldo and also had the opportunity to speak with him on numerous different accounts. He is a responsible and
respectful person and definitely someone who puts a lot of effort into maintaining & management, I got most my deposit back when I vacated the property. Thank you Mike .

Mike Castaldo should be taken to court for his dishonest handlings of deposit refunds/false claims of damages, have his business disbanded, and be barred from owning any rental property in the future.

He/his staff didn't fix an appliance in the unit, at any point, after living there for years. After making several requests! That's just a small glimpse into the hell it is to deal with his company. There were a myriad of complaints about the unit/property, from multiple tenants, that went unaddressed. Often...and for months. When there was a (rare) response, it was either attacking and rude, or dismissive and rude. He/his management have no other style of communication.

Mikes attitude has been consistently abusive, threatening, hostile and deflecting of any responsibility or accountability as a business owner, or as a landlord with any regard or concern for his tenants. He is dishonest, irresponsible and down-right unprofessional in his dealings with tenants/prospective tenants and should not be trusted under any circumstances.

Don't give him your money. And under no circumstances is it a good idea to sign your name on any document with this guy. I assure you, the day will come when you will regret it.

Negative stars if I could. Worst landlord/slumlord. Abusive to his tenants and his maintenance workers. He will take your deposit and make up all these crazy charges. STAY CLEAR OF MIKE CASTALDHOE HE WILL HE YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE!!!!!

Great landlords. Heater went out and they got someone out the very same day. Mike is super nice and I have 0 complaints. Finally a property management company that is pleasant, professional, and addresses everything in a timely manner. Don't listen to those negative reviews.

I have 0 complaints also I've lived here my place for going on 4 years Mike is very nice. I had two problems over the years and it was done right away same day, it is a great property management. Yes do not listen to the negative reviews!!

I wish I had read the reviews before wasting my time. I don't even rent from him and he showed his poor management skills. I had an appt to look at a place to rent from him. He had text me asking if it was today or tomorrow. I immediately responded that I was on my way and it was today. No response! We get there and look through the windows waiting for him. After 20 minutes I text him asking if he was coming? No response! So I then call, he answers but hangs up on me, I call back and no answer!! First impression I got from all of this is he's a slumlord! And it looks as though I am correct looking at other reviews. I am glad he showed me who he was before it was too late. I will take my hard earned money elsewhere and if I were you I'd RUN!!!!

Cowardly Sam at American Storage likes to steal people's valuables out of their storage unit and then hide behind this managment company that tries to cover up his mistakes and rude behavior. Very dissapointing to say the least.
