I've been renting spaces from Hayward Castro valley storage for 10 years. Staff is amazing. Places always clean. And Martel is probably the best manager I have ever known. I just secured my new storage unit. From the moment I walked in the door, I was impressed with the professionalism and warm welcome of the two gentlemen at the front desk. This location is also less than 10 minutes from my home. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the property and the area where my unit is located. So far so good!

The Castro Valley - Hayward staff are awesome ! All of them are friendly , very helpful , polite and very professional . The manager , Martel , is a great match for his job title ! He is exceptionally a very nice person , polite and very professional ! He represents the Castro Valley - Hayward Storage Facility perfectly ! I rented a large drive up unit from this place for over a year. It was awesome that they kept my rate the same for one year before they increased the monthly rate (not that much). The facility seems secure enough with a keypad code for entry and exit and I never had an issue with theft here. The only things I did not like about my experience were 1) I could never figure out their autopay (or maybe they didn't have it?), so each month for 1.5 years, I had to login to my account to make the payment manually, and 2), they have mice or rats or something, because over the course of months after moving in, I noticed mice or rat droppings on my boxes, some cardboard boxes had been chewed through, and every time I opened my storage unit garage door, there were some like plant flyaways (I don't know what they are, they look like little dried brown ashes from a plant or something) caked at the bottom of my garage door, and they would always get all over my things and in my boxes. A lot of spider webs and spiders also accumulated at the corner of the inside of my garage doors. This is probably the downside to renting a pull-up garage storage unit. I ended up throwing away a lot of stuff because I was disgusted by the evidence of mice/rats on my belongings. The workers were always friendly here though, and they also made checking-out super easy here.

I turned in my storage unit today after 7 years and only because I now have space for my belongings. I initially moved from Castro Valley to San Leandro 5 years ago and decided to keep my storage after looking at other units close to home. The value and the customer service that CV Hayward Storage offers were unmatched. I’m very thankful that I never had an issue there. My belongings were safe the entire time. Highly recommend them!
