Finally feel like I can review. My first experience buying 15 years ago. The buying and selling agent were in the same office. Bad idea. They were pitting us against the seller. We found out when we met up with the seller to figure out exactly what the problem was. Swore I’d never use them again. Fast forward to selling the house and swearing I’d never use them again except my friend really pushed for this agent and he was super cool and held my hand the whole time. When the offer was accepted I didn’t hear much and he wasn’t at closing. A little sad but okay. Fast forward to buying a new place. Agent again very nice, accommodating, was there for most of the showings. Put in an offer. Then wasn’t there for closing. Asked for keys. Nope, use the key pad. What if the batteries run out? Change them. Was told finally “if I had know the keys were going to be a big deal I’d have bought keys as a closing gift.” WOW, snap. But from my original experience I think it comes from the top down.
