I am writing to express my deep frustration and concern about the living conditions and discriminatory treatment of affordable housing residents at Cielo Carmel. I feel like a prisoner in my own home, constantly subjected to stress and anxiety due to the following issues:

· Excessive inspections
· Denial of basic dignity and necessities.
Residents are not allowed to barbecue
Children are not allowed to ride bike even though the market rate residents are allowed
· Unfair disadvantage compared to market-rate residents
· Lack of speed bumps, putting our children at risk yet market rate have speed bumps.
· Blatant discrimination and neglect
. Not fixing things when requested
We are not allowed to even install electric charging stations .
Rent increases at 10% yearly

Despite my numerous emails and concerns, the situation remains unchanged. Tragically, my son was recently hit by a car while crossing the street from our unit.

Although some reviews are positive these reviews are from employees of the property management company or family members of the management staff.

Been staying here to help with my elderly mother for few months now and the staff is very caring and professional. Lucy is absolutely amazing. She was warm and welcoming from the start.  No matter how many times I called with questions, dropped in when I was in town she has always been very professional, patient and answered any of my concerns. They were exceptionally caring and a pleasure through the whole process especially with my elderly mother. Their customer service skills far exceeds great. We absolutely love the community. The management team is doing an amazing job at keeping the community clean and safe !!Thank you all!!!!

I’ve been living in Cielo Carmel for almost 7 years. It’s a gem of affordable housing in San Diego!!! CC is a beautiful and clean community. The staff in the leasing office and the maintenance team are incredibly kind and helpful. Since my first day here, Lucy (community manager) has gone above and beyond. Anytime I need help, she assisted me. I feel safe and happy here.Thank you so much Lucy!

• It's a few months since we've moved to this neighborhood the location is outstanding, the staff is incredibly responsive, the area is well-maintained, have nothing but great things to say. Maintenance staff make this place amazing. Thanks for being awesome.....The location in Carmel Valley is perfect - close to restaurants, shops, Trader Joe’s and Rite Aid. As a new tenant our case took alot of paperwork and had issues, but Lucy the manager and her office staff have been always helpful .Thanks to Lucy and cielo apartments for our new home.We absolutely love living here. The management and the property are amazing and the community is perfect. It’s safe and fun for the kids and dogs. So happy we found this place.

My sister has a disabled unit and has been severely sick for nearly 2 years. She requires home health nurses to visit 2-3 times a week. There is no visitor parking and the nurses have been threatened to have their vehicles towed for parking in empty spots in front of the community center, as those spots are for future residents, which in the several times I have been there are always EMPTY. It is really sad that they can not allow the nurses to park there for 1 hour every other day.

Again....why put more and more families in such tight quarters? A swimming pool and small play park does not make up for stripping mother nature away from today's children. Did the developers even think ahead about future water availability when planning this? At least there could have been some sort of gray water usage put in place and big trees brought in
