We rented this place for summer quarter (my two roommates and I). It was a horrible experience. When we got the keys, we walked in and the owners hadn’t cleaned the floors or ANYTHING. My mom brought her carpet cleaner over and just after ONE round of the living room the dirty water was dark black. I don’t even want to think about the last time someone cleaned the carpets before we did. It also smelled like dirty socks when we moved in. Over the summer we noticed things breaking, and contacted the owners. They said they would stop by to fix, but never did. This happened every time something went wrong. Also, the garbage system they have is terrible. Its hard to put your garbage in the garbage bin, so everyone leaves it NEXT to the garbage which causes there to be garbage ALL OVER our yard. And they expect US to clean it up! There were used condoms on our lawn and it was so nasty. Our place had a spider problem. I found 4 spiders crawling on me in one day. The carpet in the house also was starting to come up everywhere and was falling apart. They don’t pay for most of the bills, which added on top of overly priced rent, is rediculous. I HIGHLY DON’T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Ended up moving out 3 weeks early due to the house being so gross from the people before/owners not cleaning it. Landlord is also very rude.

I don’t usually post this kinda stuff but I want anyone that goes to Central to know and be prepare . This summer my friends and I took over a lease at the Cottage Housing. They are cute little houses that everyone wants to live in.
Things literally started breaking the day that we moved in. The crank on the window broke, so we immediately texted our landlord to let her know so that she could come fix it. She said she would fix it, and never came. Repeatedly, things continued to break and we would text her and she would either say she would come fix it and decide not to or just not reply at all. I actually ended up buying a toilet piece from the parts store and fixing our toilet all by myself because she was no help in anything. In addition to things breaking, the carpet started pulling up everywhere and when you vacuumed over it long pieces would come up.
Also, the first day we moved in, we all had our shoes off because we were trying to keep the place nice. By the end of the day, all of our feet turned black, like we had been walking on asphalt all day, but it was just from the carpet. My roommates mom brought her carpet cleaner over, and within one pass the water in it was black. Most everything in the house was like this, there was dirt caked in the windowsills as well!
There also was definitely a bug problem. I would have probably 30 spiders a day crawling out of my drain in my bathroom, there were ants everywhere in the house, and it was impossible to get them all out.
The garbage dumpster facility was way too small and I really think it was only emptied once every two or three weeks, because it was always overflowing, causing people to put their trash next to the dumpster. It would then all blow into our yard and we were stuck cleaning it up, gross!
The landlords were very rude and unhelpful in every way, and the rent is very overpriced for what you’re getting. I also don’t expect to get my deposit back, which is very unfortunate because my roommates and I kept the place as clean and in as good of shape as possible.

Long story short, if you or someone you know is looking to rent somewhere in Ellensburg, please pass along this message to them. I don’t want anyone to have to deal with this, it is easily the worst and grossest place I’ve ever lived.

The landlords are terrible. They don’t do their jobs properly. Things break and they will wait for weeks to fix. They’ll ignore your texts if they don’t like you (I have an ESA, and they pretty much discriminate against me because they hate animals. They’ll ignore me but talk to my roommates.) They’ll refuse to do anything to help you, it’s all on their own terms. If it wasn’t so affordable I would not live here anymore.

Very nice apartments and close to school.

If you think you're going to get your deposit back you are highly mistaken. They'll refuse to fix broken appliances in your apartment then charge you for fixing the damage after moving out. They only rent to college students because they can take advantage of us.

Keep documentation at all cost with these managers.
