Avoids phone calls from customers who need them to actually do their job, never provides any notification to homeowners when they plan to do work to the buildings or structures. For example we noticed down the street they started painting and redoing siding on a few houses (which they didn't even do properly) and we figured they would contact us before they made their way towards our part of the condo complex. But in typical De camara fashion they start roping off a chunk of our parking lot to bring in construction equipment before even telling us what they were doing or what time period they planned on doing it. They hire a landscaping company that comes out every week yet somehow plants are always dead or dying, then they let newly installed irrigation lines continue to water these dead plants. They let trees rip up foundations and try and deny it ever happened or that they are responsible to pay for it even though it was lack of maintenance on their part that caused the damage. If you think I am exaggerating look at their yelp page, it is much worse than even what I am saying. They love to use mismatching trim pieces on the carports. They use our money to work on the parking lot which is in horrible condition and it still looks almost as bad as it was in the first place (not to mention they have done nothing to ensure it drains properly so we get stagnant water when it rains). They insist our rotten fence isn't their problem to fix, then a couple years down the road they say it is their responsibility and decide to replace it? There should be a negative star rating but unfortunately this is as low as it goes. Any other property management company is bound to be better than this one, take your business elsewhere as all this company will give you is frustration and attitude.

They need to do something about parking at Green Meadow dr in Watsonville Ca. The parking is so bad you can’t even have visitors because the parking is horrible. So many cars haven’t moved in years ! Some houses have like 10 cars . That they don’t move . They need to do something about parking . It looks so bad some cars double park . That’s not okay . And as I know the street parking is for the public but some people act like they own the parking spaces . You guys need to do something about the parking here. Please ! Have people get rid of the cars that are just parked there !!!!

So a contractor was hired about 1 month ago at Green Meadow Drive and was making repairs to several decks. They were using old, chipped wood to fix the decks. I notified DE CAMARA MANAGEMENT several times about this hazard but have yet to receive a call. I know this is a liability issue because I have worked in the construction business. This is a picture of the wood they are using. To add on, the wood is surrounded by a fence that is taking up 2 entire parking spots in the neighborhood. As you may know, parking is terrible. Good luck finding a spot past 4pm 🙂 everyone double parks, and the Watsonville Police Department cannot do anything about it because De Camara Management does not enforce parking rules ANYMORE.

De Camara took over my rental condo management and I am extremely disappointed on it's HOA payment process. During the change of management company my direct deposit of HOA didn't carry over. After 13 months later I found out my account was sent to collection agency with large amount fees and late fees. Despite of my request to communicate online or phonecall the company only sent snail mails of bills to the address where I dont have regular access to. 3 weeks after I paid the full balance to the collection agent my De Camara account still showed huge balance and no emails of any further HOA statement I requested.

I've dealt with this company for 30 years as I manage and have sold several hundred properties within the homeowner's associations this company manages. When Al DeCamara first started his business he ran a company that was responsive and provided excellent service. I'm not sure exactly when this all changed. Property management is a difficult, stressful business. I really do get it but that's no excuse for the way this company does business. I recently met with a contractor who was hired by DeCamara management to do many thousands of dollars worth of work. After he submitted his bill for the work performed Al De Camara said he wasn't going to authorize payment because the contractor didn't have the right kind of license for the work he did. It had nothing to do with the quality of the work. That contractor lost thousands of dollars. 3 years ago I reached out to Al DeCamara to ask if the association would pay for the replacement of two severely rotted fences surrounding 2 patios that were severely damaged. I did all the legwork to obtain the bids and Al approved the jobs in writing via email. He even suggested the type of fencing that should be installed to avoid dry rot and fungus damage in the future. When it came time to pay the bill he refused to do so. I submitted a letter to the board through the management company which was never submitted to the board. I paid the $1,500 for the fence out of my own pocket because I signed the contract with the fence company. I did not own the property and received no monetary benefit. If Al were to write a follow up to Trump's book, "Art of the Deal" Al DeCamara's book should be named , "Art of the Steal". The man who runs this company has no moral compass.

Thieves. Constantly raising HOA fees but provide nothing in return. Calling them is useless. Recently they removed items of value from my car port, we’re relocating and needed the space. They came around and removed (ie stole) only the items of value and left the boxes and items they couldn’t resell behind. They said it was to make common areas look better. Meanwhile my neighbors eyesore of a unit is constantly surrounded by junk, garbage and supplies, no efforts are ever made to clean that dump up. Probably because nothing they leave laying out is of value...

This HOA is probably the WORST one in Santa Cruz County. There is a POT HOLE right in front of our home/parking space. Have called them multiple times over these past couple of months, year now and nothing has been done to correct it. I guess until someone falls and SUES them, that will get it corrected. Oh yeah, saving all those emails to have proof at for lawyers about your lack of competence.
