Recently took my niece to tour. The lady giving us the tour introduced herself as the manager, she explained the upcoming renovations extremely well. She seems to really care about the community and the residents. I feel confident that my niece will thrive here.

Do not live here. When I moved in and my AC was broken, they gave me a window unit and then took 2 weeks to come fix my AC. It broke a total of 5 times the whole time I lived there and they do not offer any compensation on the high power bill. They do room checks all time, sometimes without telling you which apartments they will entering into and it will be between a week time span. The side door to the building was broken almost every other day. There is maybe 25-30 parking spots for all residents, and you are charged a parking fee, and then told if there is no parking “to find some on the street.” I was charged a $600 cleaning and move out fee even though I had hired a service to clean it, but when I moved in it was a mess with broken blinds, mold under my sink, leaking garbage disposal and broken light fixtures. Some of the front desk staff and the maintenance man were nice and it is a good location, but those are about the only good things.

Looking for an awesome, clean, and super welcoming place? You've got to check out District Lofts! When I toured the place, they were busy with renovations, making it even more amazing than it already is. If you're on the hunt, I highly recommend District Lofts.

Our daughter lived there for two years while attending the University of Alabama. Prior to moving out she stopped by the office to inquire if she needed to clean up. The office employee informed her that clean up wasn't necessary. My daughter's roommates followed the same procedure and were given the same information. After moving out, she and her roommates were all nailed with roughly $1000 in move out charges. The fees included "carpet replacement, trash out of the unit and a deep clean due to the excessive dirt and grime". We were present for the move out and a simple steam clean of the carpet would have done the trick. And use of phrases like "trash" and "grime" are tactics they use to paint a picture that doesn't actually exist. Any attempts at communication with management are useless - they don't answer the phone and their email responses are re-wordings of their dramatic and grandiose misrepresentations of reality. Threats that we have "30 days to make the payment before it is sent to collections" is icing on the cake of this warped version of customer service that District Lofts has chosen to provide.

The common area is filthy. The trash cans are over flowing for days-weeks with flies inside and out. There is trash all over the property. The door is always broken and the common areas are filthy. It’s highly unlikely any of the 5 star reviews here are legitimate. Please see pics
