I had a review on here removed. So I will reiterate what I said again. This manager at this location was absolutely rude. My friend booked this many months ago, for $1200. For her wedding that is now less than 29 days I called, first spoke with one of the workers at this location who stated possibly coming up with a way for us to compromise whether that being a different location or giving the money back. The next day, I received a call back from the manager. My friend lost money out on the property after calling to do a second half of deposit to find out she can’t have her wedding there. The initial phone call was to reduce the stress of the situation, for the bride who is now out of this money, the second phone call with the manager I explained there was a photographer involved and food venue asked if we could compromise for the day as respectively there would be less than 10
Spending the night, the manager didn’t put in one care or apology to care about this matter. this is false advertisement was my argument as the occupant says 10 For sleeping and this manager is stating because the only 2 people listed she couldn’t have it there nor have a wedding when the advertisement says to have a family reunion. Family reunions run in My family approximate 70
People at least? So why would anyone think to not have a small wedding of 20 people be allowed at this location for the day If the manager was approachable, nicer and more understanding of the entirety of this situation I wouldn’t be so upset.

Be careful before booking with this company because what they are advertising is completely deceiving.

This is false advertising. "Host your next family reunion, friends retreat, or life milestone." COMPLETE BULLSHIT. Who has a family reunion with 10 or less people? My friend booked this to have a small (20 person) wedding, very simple, very quick, mostly for a private setting, with the woods, and lake for some nice photos. We were Not catering in food or anything like that, and 15 of the people would have only been on the property for 3-4 hours AT most. When we called to discuss and make the final payment the manager was very rude, she doesn't take any responsibility for the false advertising/description, and she only made excuses and wouldn't even attempt to come to an agreement or resolution to make the situation right. Again, less than 20 people on the property for less than 4 hours, the remainder of the weekend that was booked was for the bride and grooms honeymoon and only they were staying at the house. They weren't even having their own children stay with them, not even for one night. This advertisement essentially is implying you can have small events however only up to 10 people on the property.

When disputing the advertisement the manager said "they don't write those descriptions, the property owner does." OK great, get us in touch with the owner of the property so we can talk with them about the false advertising of the property and the circumstances of this "life event" we were planning at this property.

They had this booked for a 5 day stay, had to cancel 30 days before the reservation. The bride and groom will only get the deposit back if they rent the property for the days canceled. If they don't rent it out, the company not only lost future business from several people, but also the remaining of the rental amount we would've paid to stay there.

I hope the property owner knows this management company is losing them business and money....I mean, the reviews in general for Door County Management are not good to begin with, I guess we shouldn't have given them the benefit of the doubt and hoped for a good experience ourselves. Lesson learned.

Absolutely the WORST company! In the process of filing a lawsuit. The property description is NOT accurate but they will not take responsibility for what it says because it’s written by the property owner… Was told if there were more than 10 people on the property at any given time the police would be called and I should have looked at the towns statutes and laws. Not a way to run a business!!

The property was gorgeous and the lake was gorgeous, but there wasn’t much customer service. We had an alarm that kept going off on the back patio and we did not get any appropriate service until the very last day of our trip and the house was very minimally equipped, so just be aware of that if you are going to stay at the property we were at anyway

Door County Property Management or Rent Door County is the worst property management company I have ever come across. We rented a house called Hoffman's Up North. We had rented a house before in Gills Rock and loved the location so we decided to rent Hoffman's Up North. The house was fine - I am not blaming anything on the owner of the house. However, the cell phone service is non existent which is a serious problem. But it is really not because you can always just use wi-fi calling, right? Wrong. Not in this house because the wi-fi is practically non-existent.

I called the property management company and was told that all of their rental contract state that cell service and wi-fi service throughout Door County could be spotty. That is simply not true. I asked them to call the satellite internet provider Hughes Net to report this issue and they refused to call them.

So I called them myself. The woman I talked to at Hughes Net was super nice and she told me the internet issue was almost surely due to the fact that the homeowner had probably purchased only a basic plan and if the property rental company would notify the home owner of this and the internet plan was upgraded it would be highly likely to solve the problem.

So I went to the Rent Door County office and told the representative this and asked her to call the homeowner. I even offered to pay the cost of the upgraded plan. She refused to do so and her manager called me back and told me the same thing. No they would not call the homeowner and told me do not come into our office ever again

So that's my review. I might want to add one other thing. If you rent any house from this company you might want to bring your own toilet paper. The toilet paper they provide is the thinnest cheapest toilet paper anyone could imagine. I am sure it's the same kind you would find in a jail or prison.

I suppose 1 star is worth the $532 they and the owner are keeping for the trip we had to cancel. We booked the cabin late, paid the full amount, and then 2 days before leaving, life fell apart. My wife was admitted to the hospital here in Chicago and diagnosed with leukemia. So no trip. I thought maybe they would be kind, and give us a refund.

They offered us a 41% refund. So thanks for that, I guess. Not like the other $532 would have come in handy for parking, gas, meals, etc while my wife is in the hospital for another 4 weeks and undergoing chemotherapy.

My brother booked a $900 rental for his wedding anniversary. His wife was diagnosed with Leukemia the week of the trip and they had to cancel. She was not allowed to leave the hospital much less travel to Door County. They spent their anniversary in the hospital. After much negotiation they would only refund $375. Who takes money from a family about to undergo Cancer treatment? Door County Property Management does.

Buyer beware! Using AirBNB, they only list the cancellation policy and house rules. The "Change dates" option is enabled so when I had an unplanned job change and can't come in Nov as planned (for months and months), they refuse to let me shift dates to later in spring (bc they don't have their contracts ready and won't give me a credit). We don't want to cancel, we want to go, but they are forcing me to cancel and refunding only 50%. In my book, that is STEALING becuase they are taking money for providing nothing in return. I am very disappointed in this company's ethics. I understand policies, but they should clearly state that date changes are not possible. They don't declare that anywhere. I would NOT recommend doing business with them. They don't care about their customers at all.
