Hands-down the best experience I've ever had as a tenant. I've had some terrible luck with management companies and landlords in the past, to the point that I honestly thought they were all scammers and slouches who cared only for their bottom line, even at the expense of their tenants' comfort.

Encore was truly a joy to rent from. All of our concerns and maintenance requests were answered promptly and professionally. They were honest about the state of the home upon our move-out and didn't try to unfairly keep our security deposit for ridiculous reasons - an absolute rarity among management companies.

They stole our security deposit from us. They only returned $600 of the $2400 we paid. They charged us for replacing carpet that they didn't actually replace. I went back to the unit and took photos of the same carpet still installed with the new tenants. They also charged us for repainting after we had been there for 3 years and we had permission to paint from the previous landlord. They repainted the whole apartment and charged us for it. I was pregnant when we didn't get the return back so didn't want to deal with small claims court. The owner of the unit we moved out of has since moved on to different management and think that was a good decision. I have always received my security deposits back and take very good care of the property usually leaving way better than originally received. Thankfully we are now homeowners so don't have to deal with people like this anymore.
