I have had the pleasure of working with John and Heather at Five Point Property Management for many years now. I can tell you, definitively, that they are the best property managers in northern Idaho…by far. Actually, they are much more than just property managers; they are active participants in the ultimate goal of making your property business a success. John and Heather sincerely care; they involve themselves on a personal level to ensure a consistently smooth operation, and work hard to save you money in the process. John is quite the handyman and carpenter. He is capable of doing many of the repairs, especially emergency repairs, himself - which saves thousands of dollars in the long run.
John and Heather understand the value of good communication. They always answer the phone, reply to emails, and will spend as much time as you desire on the phone discussing details of your property business. And they are always prepared to offer suggestions for improvements based on their decades of experience managing a broad spectrum of property types. Heather maintains impeccable accounting records of income and expenditures, and delivers them dependably on a monthly and annual basis.
They care greatly about proper tenant selection, and do thorough, careful screenings. They maintain regular communication with tenants and stay on top of tenants’ issues and concerns. They form solid relationships with the tenants and maintain these relationships throughout the tenancy.
John and Heather have been in the property management business far longer than most. They know the ins and outs of the business better than anyone. And it truly set them apart. I have had the misfortune of working with other, less qualified, and just plain horrible property managers in the past – the ones who collect rent on your behalf…and that’s about it. The ones who are completely incapable of managing a maintenance issue themselves - or who simply can’t be bothered by it - so they just call a plumber or handyman, go back to bed, and stick you with the exorbitant bill. And by the way, there are many of those types of property management establishments in the area – so beware. John and Heather don’t do this. They will do everything in their power to personally resolve the issue, and, as mentioned, John himself is quite often capable of the task, and at a much more reasonable rate.
For me, finally meeting John and Heather was a true blessing, and quite honestly, a lifesaver to my property business. Not only are they experts in the property management business, they are experts in the North Idaho property management business. They know the area well, and have lived here and worked property management here for years; they know the rental market, they know who’s best at turning an apartment between tenants, they know the contractors, they know the utility companies and the local municipal agencies. They have seen it all and dealt with it all in the North Idaho rental market.
Above all else, John and Heather are honest and trustworthy. They place a high premium on earning and keeping your trust, and they will not lose it.
