This company is violating the fair housing laws in the state of California. I asked to receive a call back and haven’t heard from the property manager.

We were wanting to apply for a rental property and were guided to call the main number to clarify about one of our applicants.
Their requirements to apply for any rental property is that all adults who anticipate living at one of their units need to apply and have a valid credit score.
One of our applicants has been disabled since birth, so he wouldn’t have a credit score, my mother provides around the clock care for him. When calling they told my mother she couldn’t apply because my brother is an adult who doesn’t have a credit score, which again he doesn’t have one because he’s been disabled since birth. I call 30 minutes later and speak to another representative and they confirmed the same thing only this time I was told, my mother could apply but since my brother doesn’t have a credit score our application would not be considered. I provided my contact information so the property manager can speak to me, haven’t heard from them since. Under the Fair Housing Act this is considered discrimination. I will be also filing a official complaint to the states civil rights department.
