Customer service has gone way downhill and the company focuses on making profits over all else. Have been a faithful customer of this company for years and have seen it go from good to decent to bad in a few short years. They have my company’s services directly next to a landscaping service (trimming pruning sodding), (we do pest control and lawn spraying/fertilization) we get illegitimate leads for landscaping services we do not provide constantly. We’ve reached out to have them move our pest control and lawn treatment/fertilization services as it is very obvious why we are getting these calls in error (they’re on the same page as the pruning etc), and they refuse to move us in the books. Why would they? If they’re over 30 second calls, they’re not able to be credited, no matter if the customer is calling looking for something we don’t provide. If someone picks up the magazine and calls us for pruning a bush, which we obviously do not do and have communicated numerous times, it’s an “out of scope” call and no credits given. Illegitimate calls and 50$+ outta my pocket for each. On top of the new “participation fee” and raised pricing. Highway robbery. Takes weeks for emails to get answered, if ever, and they are never focused on actually helping me or fixing my issues. They don’t honor their word. They’re focused on profits, at the expense of their very own vendors. Nickel and dimed for leads that are nowhere near credible and has become nearly impossible to get illegitimate leads credited back to your account. Price increases passed onto the customer to the tune of 15% or more and an egregious “participation fee” to ensure they’ll make excessive money off you from the start. Leads are more and more expensive and less and less legit. I’m sure this will get responded to in half the time it takes for my emails to get responded to.

Can't say enough about the vendors in this book. Our company has been with 5 Star Rated since it's inception. We do get background checked and they follow up with customers to make sure the vendors are providing quality services. We've been in other publications that accept vendors based on advertising budget, so there are some really crummy companies in the competitors publications.
We tell our customers what we go through to remain in the book...and we continue to use other vendors in the book because they've been checked and verified as a good standing company.

After some not-so-great experiences with contractors, I was SO glad to learn about 5-Star Rated! Every company they have referred me to has been fantastic to work with. Their vetting process is more extensive than other rating services I've tried. I couldn't be happier - or more confident - in their help. While there are plenty of plenty of sources you can get recommendations from to hire a company for work, I find comfort in knowing that the contractors published in Five Star Rated are professionally background checked, reviewed, and trusted by a team who publishes them and they're not just some Joes in trucks coming into your house. I have not had a negative experience yet from one of the companies published in this book!

When I got my booklet this year, I found one of the companies listed as a 5 star company "Leveled" (Houston area) was the very company that I had to go to the BBB to get them to honor their warranty on work done at my house. The president is an absolute liarand it took months to get them to honor their waranty. You can use my name nd I will provide more info if it would be helpfull.
