Manny from the maintenance team is the best! He is very responsive and comes to fix things on short notice if needed. He even worked around my schedule when I was on nights to come in the early evening to fix something so as to not disrupt my sleep. He is always professional and efficient!

My fiancé and I lived here for over two and a half years and only left because we had to move states for my school. We joked that if we could pick up the building and bring it with us we would. I have never enjoyed living in a building so much. The amenities were top notch, and they throw free community events all the time and even have yoga every couple weeks. But it was the maintenance staff and caretakers who really made this place special. Manny and Pedro and the rest of the maintenance team were always available, kind, and got the job done fast. And the women who keep that place clean are so nice and did such a fantastic job. They worked endlessly and the entire building was always beautiful. The office staff were always great too whenever we needed anything, and were quick to reply to any emails or get information to us. Thank you Garey Building for such a wonderful experience. We’ll miss you.

The following is not necessarily part of the review for the building but just some things to note if you are considering living here:
- Once in a while the fire alarms went off in the building. This was because someone would try to sneak a smoke by a smoke detector or would open the door to the hallways when they burnt something. If you move here don’t be that person! The building staff worked pretty hard to get people to stop doing this and it stopped happening by the time we left.
- Emails went out pretty often reminding people of late fees and building rules. The wording of these emails can make it seem like they’re only being sent to you, which was confusing and a little upsetting at first since I’m a big rule follower, but after asking the office they assured us these were routine emails sent to everyone.
- The building is amazing, but make sure you are ok with living in the bubble of the Arts District. This location has great access to the freeways, but nice/comfortable areas to walk around the neighborhood were limited.

Can’t recommend this place enough though. It was truly a luxury experience ❤️

The maintenance team in the building is fast, friendly, and professional with repairs. When my garbage disposal started leaking water and I couldn’t use my sink, Manny came and installed a new one. He tested it thoroughly and completed the repair efficiently. I also had a minor issue with my blinds, and he fixed it right away.

Our move in was smooth thanks to Irwin. He always answered our questions quickly and clearly. Our first month has been great, we love living here so far. Manny was very quick and helpful in fixing our shower faucets and other requests. Thank you!
