I’m in Love!
No, I don’t mean it that way; I’m in love with everything Vermont! And Will’s passion for Vermont and showing country hospitality takes the experience to perfection. We woke up to heaven with views from our bedroom and felt we could pluck the stars out of the sky at night while the frogs sang us a nighttime lullaby. Will made sure we experienced the best, told us where to go for local food and local flavor without being intrusive. The cottage was welcoming and immaculate. It had its own crystal-clear swimming hole! Will had it stocked with essentials to get us through until we shopped for provisions. We had everything we needed to feel at home but if a question came up a text to Will was quickly answered. We have stayed at various air b&b’s but have never felt treated like family. We had a fantastic stay at Will's cottage, located in a secluded yet easy-to-reach area of the Green Mountains and within reasonable driving range of several charming small Vermont towns. The college is full of interesting art and books and has one of the best stock rental kitchens I've ever come across. I didn't even have to use my emergency travel kitchen knife (I hate dull knives!). Will is very responsive and has great suggestions about everything from swimming holes to blueberry picking. The whole family enjoyed several of his recommendations. We really enjoyed our very comfortable stay and will be back.

Wow! What an awesome place and a great host! The views of the forest were amazing and the house was well stocked with everything we needed. Couldn't ask for anything more. Definitely going to book again! Remember to ask Will about some of the great hikes and scenery right on your doorstep.

Great location just a few minutes away from local hiking and swimming, including a trail just down the road that will take you to the Long Trail on the Appalachian Trail. Will has tons of recommendations for places to go and things to do. The house is welcoming with a grill and deck to make yourself cozy and at home, for when you're not out enjoying everything the Green Mountains have to offer.

I had such an amazing extended stay at the Green Mountain Cottage! 10/10 recommend, William is a great host and very communicative, any issues I had were addressed immediately. The house is cozy, has all the appliances you could need and more! Extra points for great water pressure! The property is beautiful and you might get a surprise visit from a neighborhood dog or two! I would recommend all-wheel / 4-wheel drive for most visitors, if you don't know the back country of VT, the terrain can surprise you at any moment.

Green Mountain Cottage is an absolute delight and William is an excellent host. The space is warm and inviting and just so lovely. Super comfortable beds, a well appointed kitchen and open concept living area with an artsy yet uncomplicated vibe. Top all that off with the gorgeous setting that feels completely removed from all stressors in life yet is convenient to everything and you truly have the perfect get away spot. Five stars doesn’t feel like nearly enough.

If you are looking for a home base to explore the Mad River Valley and surrounding areas you’d be hard pressed to find a better option.

I’ve traveled all over the world and stayed in many places but few feel as special as Green Mountain Cottage. I can’t wait to come back.

Green Mountain Cottage is beautiful and comfortable. A perfect mix of feeling like you're in the middle of nature but with all the modern amenities and comforts. Will is an excellent host, too. We hope to get back there soon, and I highly recommend it to others!

We are a family of 4 with 2 little kids and stayed at the Green Mountain Cottage in late August for a long weekend. What a great house! Nestled into the foothills of the Green Mountain National Park, the beauty of the area cannot be surpassed. Quiet and secluded, it was a great place to relax and for the kids to play. We loved the area and took some excursions to a nearby waterfall and charming country store. The house itself is awesome. Tastefully decorated and spacious, it had everything that we need. The owner was extremely accommodating and has really has made this place special. Would not hesitate returning. Thanks William!
