Avoid This Apartment Complex at All Costs:

I would give it a 0 stars if I could!

I regret ever moving into this apartment complex. If you’re considering renting here, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Here’s why:

1. Filthy Conditions: The common areas are always dirty. Hallways are littered with trash, and the smell of garbage is constant. It seems like cleanliness is not a priority for management. See the pictures for yourself.
2. Unresponsive Management: The management here is beyond frustrating. They are slow to respond to maintenance requests, if they even bother to at all. Basic repairs take forever, and issues are often ignored completely.
3. Unsafe Environment: The lack of attention to security is alarming. Doors and locks often don’t work, and it doesn’t feel safe walking around the complex at night. You can see for yourself an example of how people camp inside the garage overnight and often times burn garbage. I’ve even found used pipes and needles around.
4. Neglected Facilities: The amenities they advertise are either broken or unusable. The gym equipment is outdated and often broken, game room is hardly usable, and other facilities are not maintained.
5. Pest Issues in the past and occasional issues still: There are frequent pest problems, and management does very little to address them. I’ve seen cockroaches, ants, and other insects all over the place, making it an uncomfortable place to live.
6. Overpriced for What You Get: For the price they charge, the living conditions are absolutely unacceptable. You can find far better places in the area for the same or even less money. I won’t even get into how my rent has increased twice.

In short, I would strongly advise against living here. It’s dirty, poorly managed, and far from worth the price. Look elsewhere—you’ll be happier and more comfortable.

Everything is good. Still waiting for maintenance to come back with parts to fix my bathroom light (2 months). Also I have not received my 2 gifts from our Christmas party. I won the door prize and one of the bingo prizes. The food was very good and plenty of it.

It's a nice quiet place to live. Close to Safeway and A line buses and light rail and airport access. The view from my apartment windows has Puget Sound visible along with snow capped mountains and brilliant skyscapes and sunsets. High enough to view the birds in flight. Very convenient access to downtown Des Moines. Balcony's to catch the breeze or sunshine.

Do NOT believe Craigslist ad pricing. This company is using BAIT & SWITCH PRICING. And they continue to do so even after I called them out on it, so they are brazen about it and I can't wait until it catches up to them and bites them where it hurts. And the "Controlled Access Parking" is a LIE, a joke, it has been broken for a year or more now. The inside is TRASHY, literally there is trash on the ground and the property manager walks past it like it doesn't exist. Something white in the elevator on the floor and the property manager said "oh that is just construction debris, it will be cleaned up soon". If the reaction of the other resident in the elevator was any indication, her laughter at that statement told me otherwise. DON'T WASTE YOU TIME. Just wish there was a ZERO star option

Beautiful units! My mother in law lives here and has an amazing view of the airport and the planes coming/going on the runway and the incoming flights. Her unit is a 1 bedroom one bathroom. Seem to be a bit on the small side. The building has the security box so u have to be buzzed in unless your on some strangers coat tail to get in. Parking underneath the building to avoid breakins. Only down side is NO VISITORS PARKING AT ALL SO WE SOMETIMES PARK AT THE BUSINESS JUST OUT FRONT.

Edit: I emailed per the reply to this review. No response. Haven't seen a dime of my deposit returned and it's been over two weeks. No response as to how or when I'll receive it.

If I could give no stars, I would. I cannot get anyone on the phone in the office. I've left 3 voicemails. I finally received an email stating (in all caps): "HOW CAN I HELP YOU" and then "I SEEN YOU CALLED". Super professional. I tried calling again this morning. Someone picked up and hung up the phone. I'm glad I'm NOT renting here. Absolutely unprofessional staff.

Let me share with you how this apt complex has now made me homeless. All my life I’ve been a responsible person by always paying my rent and bills on time so when I rented in 2023 Heights by Vintage the main reason was the gated controlled access garage. The first car I’ve ever owned I wanted it to be safe and had a fab entry key to get into complex thru garage. Within the first month of residence the parking gate broke and was repaired within a week. In April 2024 the gate was broken for 3 weeks and I called the office and asked when it would be repaired she made fun of me so I hung up. Aug 17, 2024, 2 police officers knocked on my door to inform me my car was broken into and stolen from the parking garage but it was found. It cost me $3K to repair for I only had liability ins for driving purposes. This put me in a financially bind and was unable to get rent paid in full and was evicted. Because the lease stated no responsibility by management of property that was their out. It was 4 months long when my auto got stolen of the broken gate which is breach of duty by the apt complex to get that gate fixed in reasonable time. FPI management has no care of residents property or their safety just collect money and ignore major repairs. If u look up FPI Management they have had many lawsuits of different kinds against them which explains why one should never rent a place managed by them or any other type business deal. I’m a 66 year old responsible person now homeless thx to this crooked management FPI.

It was a very organized place and the person who took me around was so professional and respectful, explaining all the services provided.It was a clean environment and overall professionally managed and maintained.One last thing the on-site Manager was very courteous as well.
