We had an excellent experience with Hi-Line and couldn't be happier with the end product. Everyone we worked with was great and our project manager Paul was very professional, responsive, and knowledgeable. You can't beat the value and we would work with them again in a heartbeat.

We recently had our home built by HILINE for our project, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! From start to finish, the entire process was smooth, efficient, and professional. A huge shoutout to our project manager PAUL, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was completed on time and to the highest standard his attention to detail, clear communication, and problem-solving skills made all the difference. He kept us informed every step of the way and handled every challenge with expertise and confidence. We are so happy with our home, and with Hiline!

I am writing this, because I feel that it is my obligation to advise/warn people that are thinking about building a HiLine Home through this office in Poulsbo.
Long story short from beginning to end it was a complete nightmare. We were juggle around to four different project managers which is never good. Right from the start they missed the foundation pour by 3 feet. They also put the electrical and plumbing on the wrong side of the house for the septic. They poured pier pads that were incorrect and took months for them to repair.
There were so many mistakes that just kept pushing us behind more and more. At one point under the project manager of Michael Dillon the house basically sat for five months with nothing being done.
Is cost our family close to 100,000 over budget because of all the setbacks and them raising the cost of everything. We also had to move our family four times with a newborn. I constantly asked what his issue was or how I could help, and he was just never responsive. By the time he was fired, it was too little too late. All I can say is if you were thinking of building with this office count your lucky stars that you get Nathan Berg as as your project manager from the start till end. He was with us on the last two months and did a great job!!! He is the only positive thing we can say about HiLine.
With all that being said, my best friends built the exact same home in Cle Elum, and had a good experience. So again, I am warning you if you are planning to build a HiLine with this office, you could be in for horrible experience
that will cost you time and money.

Overall we had a good experience with our build, there were certainly some challenges due to the pandemic and supply demand. However, with any construction project there are going to be obstacles to overcome. You pay for what you get and what you want to put into it; this is clearly not a high end custom home, but it is a cost effective build if you are willing to be flexible and put some effort towards getting things done.

Nathan (our project manager) was great! Communication was spot on and for the most part time lines were managed accordingly, not everything was perfect or got done as quickly as I wished but nonetheless, the house happened and we are satisfied customers. He and I got along great due to the no nonsense direct communication, I did my job....he did his; no excuses needed, let's getter done model.

This is our second HiLine home and are likely to do another one if that door opens in the future!

Heading into month 15 of our 6-9 month build. Very poor communication. Routinely told when work will be done only to have no one show up and no one update us with information. We've had to be on top of the process the entire time. Shortcuts taken (e.g. didn't use baseboard trim--used door trim instead--looks ridiculous--we're going to have to redo ourselves; HVAC system didn't pass inspection--not the right size for our home, etc., etc.). Routinely, IF a subcontractor shows us, there is only one to do the job and it stretches out much longer than it should--poor work ethic shown by many subcontractors. The two people we worked with that were honest and professional have left the company. They have not been partners with us at all--it has definitely felt like an adversarial relationship as opposed to a partnership. I could go on, but to what end? I just wished I'd know then what I know now and have saved myself some frustration! Every time they post a reply to a review, they give a canned answer that makes it look like they're actually working with us to resolve the issues--HAH!

Pay attention to the other reviews and recognize that many of the good reviews are only from people that have done a consultation and have not signed a contract for construction yet. HiLine is super cooperative, communicative, and helpful right until you sign a contract. As soon as you're locked in, everything changes and you are no longer cared for.

It's been almost 8 months and our house still isn't done. There have been delays due to our project manager's negligence. He doesn't follow up, communicate schedule, or deal with problems until prompted to do so -- sometimes several times. There is an extreme lack of quality control and passion from HiLine to resolve issues. They seem to only want to build as many houses as possible at the expense of quality. Some subcontractors don't bother communicating with the project manager anymore and just reach out to us directly to get status updates, so communication on that side of things must be bad as well. Hiring HiLine has been detrimental to our build, not helpful.

Our Super Shell is almost ready to hand over to us.

I researched all of the different companies and I chose HiLine because I loved their floor plans. I wanted a smaller home but the cost of the 1780 was less than other companies smaller plans. I needed to stay within a budget so we also chose to do a Super Shell. HiLine does offer a lot of nice choices in cabinets, flooring, fixtures. They are the only company that offers a super shell to my knowledge. They use hardy board siding which is reason to choose them in my honest opinion. I do not want to replace siding and I’ll never have too.

Meeting with Chanel was pleasant and she was very helpful to us on choosing between two floor plans, and knowing if the house would fit on our property. She is very attention to detail and very professional. We then started working with a site manager in our town. Shanon was a go getter done kind of guy. The next thing I knew the cement was being poured. He managed the sub contractors nicely. He always let us know who was coming and when. One time one didn’t show up and when we told him he took care of it right away. He is approachable, and returns phone calls.

We moved to an area that a few other neighbor’s were building homes and had horror stories. We were very proactive and onsite often but Shannon would have made sure all things were completed accurately. One neighbor’s house was built too high by another company. There is a height restriction. The neighborhood board member’s were not that pleasant when we had them come meet with us but, Shannon showed up for that meeting and all was well. The other neighbor had to have the roof taken off and built over. It looks a bit odd now. Another HiLine home was built behind us without any issue so the board of the HOA was pleased and trusted HiLine. I’m not a fan of HOA but I now see why they were aggressive.

All of the sub contractors were very good. The cement company has one grouchy older man. They did a good job though. All of the contractors mentioned they liked to work for HiLine because they are paid after each job. The sub contractors were local so that was nice. The roofers, framers, dry wallers were very tidy so that’s a plus. I would hire any of them back or recommend them. My sister wanted to hire the roofers to replace her roof in the next town but they only work for HiLine.

HiLine offered us suggestions in hiring for our site work. That turned out well too.

I’m sitting in my energy efficient house very warm this cold February day looking out the window in complete awe that this experience was worth it. We have at least $100,000 in equity. We just wrote our final check to HiLine. Our home shines like a beautiful diamond among half of a million plus homes.

I’m very grateful that we chose HiLine. We are taking a while before we paint the outside and when we do I’ll post pictures of this beautiful home.

We have a well built home that we are enjoying but the construction process with HiLine isn't one we would choose to experience again. Everyone's build situation is unique so "your mileage may vary".
