I have had a horrible experience with this company!!! My heat was not working an when I spoke to the property manager, Tonya Scales, she laughed at me. I truly have no idea what was funny about me and my children freezing in our home!!! This company did an inspection on my house in September 2024. The maintenance man began working on the issues at my home on January 20, 2025. The following pictures are how my house has been for the last two days...keep in mind I also don't have running water because he is working on my pipes downstairs. I have been in My house 5 years and I have never had any problems until now

Kenneth was very helpful with answering all of the questions I had. He helped me & my little family secure a nice place to call home. Very Professional. Excellent communication. I lived in the El Ray apartments for over 7 years and it was under different management majority of the time. While it was under different management I had no issues. Now that it has been bought out I have nothing good to say about this company. I moved out shortly after they bought out the complex and as of today still have not received my deposit. It took a while week to even get any response in response to me moving out. I wasn’t. My new home completely unboxed before they even acknowledged me. I was told I would receive a deposit back and what a shocker I haven’t received anything I gave them my new address multiple times my new mail has came through just fine. I’m convinced that I will have to take legal action to get anything accomplished with them. If you are thinking of moving any where that is managed by hometown holdings I would reconsider! Unless however you like to have a landlord that never answers the phone and has no concern in the world if you are accommodated. They bought out these properties but clearly just for money there name has been dragged by everyone haven’t met a single person that was satisfied with them.

This company is by far the best! Their maintenance service are always prompt professional and charismatic. Especially Steve he’s always awesome on time and gets the job done! He has performed maintenance in my home a few times and he never disappoints! Very dependable and their properties are nice and affordable which is a biggie in today’s market. Their receptionist staff are always friendly and understanding. I’ve seen some say they are hard to get in contact with but I’ve never had an issue with communicating with them, Hometown Holdings are very good on responding. I’ve had my share of landlords and I can honestly say this company will always be at the top of my list of great companies to work with!

Ever since they took over maintenance of these duplexes, things just aren’t taken care of around here anymore. It’s been 3 weeks since this happened and there’s multiple neighbors with different issues that need their attention, but they “only reply to this property on Wednesdays.” If we’re lucky.

Edited to add that their response to this review is not a denial of their responsibility to take care of this property even if they “can’t find where I’m a tenant” which is irrelevant. I know they’ve been responsible for the maintenance of the duplexes on Shingle Ridge for under a year now and it’s been a noticeable decline in standard by all who have lived here for longer than a year.

Also, how sad it is that it took another neighbors Facebook post calling out the company for their lack of treatment to our long driveway connecting all the duplexes, before they actually sent someone out to scrape the road. Even sadder that a young man spent 7 hours the day before trying to shovel the long driveway (barely making a dent of course because at this point it was solid ice) because his parents’ car slid off the road earlier that week. Even the skid steer Hometown Holdings finally sent couldn’t completely clear the driveway. Honestly, I’m not even sure they were the ones to send them out, but I’m giving the benefit of the doubt that our rental company was trying to rectify their mistake.
