My experience with Hometown has been wonderful. The leasing staff were very helpful when looking for a place and were able to get me into my apartment quickly, and the maintenance department is always quick to resolve any issues that have come up. All of the staff have made the process of renting easy.

Don't do it.... They give zero attention to your property. Other than the yearly inspections I pay for, no one from Hometown Property has been to my property in years. Luckily, this last inspection sent proof my tenants have 2 dogs. I guess Hometown Property has one on the original lease, but hasn't been charging any pet rent. They didn't even know about the second one. Now they want me to make the decision to charge them an "authorization fee".... Why do I have to make that decision when it's says it clearly in the lease agreement?

Stay away. They will raise your rent more than 5%. They refuse to pay for safety related upgrades (shower grab bars) for fall risk people. They purposely misunderstand you when tell them about upgrades needed for rent increases. They want to raise our rent $100 for a $900/month place. We are paying close to $1500 already. We have has Ants coming out from behind our baseboard heaters. They have baseboard heaters so the bill each month in the winter is nearly $300/month. We have had mice crawl out of the wall from behind the light switch. The carpets havent been replaced in MANY MANY years. When we moved in there was a draft in the kitchen, and upon investigation, there was a hole 5 feet wide and 4 inches tall behind the stove. We had to add expanding foam just to not freeze. They are willfully "ignorant" that their places are slums. I realize that some of it falls on the owner as well, but that doesn't mean they can't force the owner to be decent. This place is terrible. Stay away. Stay away. Don't touch this one with a 20 foot pole.

If you try to edit an autopay on your account and set it back 3 days, the system DOESNT pull your autopay and instead they charge a 10% late fee. When informed about it, they resort to blaming you and the bank. They don't take responsibility for their system failures.

Hometown makes it possible to provide a great rental even if you live remotely. Two years ago they were IMMENSE help completely renovating my condo from the walls in, from clearing out a mess left by long term renters, finding great contractors, and working closely with me to manage costs and get quality goods and services.
This week we were re-siding the building and had an emergency plumbing problem that would have stopped the project. Bridgette had a great plumber on site and the problem solved within a day. Nice work. Peace of mind.

I do not recommend hometown pm. They fail to call you to do walkthroughs with you on move out when you request and then charge you for things that were not caused by you as the tenant. I’ve showed my photos of before and after and they still charged me outrageous fees when the house wasn’t in bad shape & clean. They did rent the home in a poor condition with no cleaning and disgusting smell. Repairs all took weeks especially the leaks. A concern about a rotted deck was brought up numerous times. They assured it wasn’t rotted, then I fell through it and hurt myself. They said sorry and took two and a half weeks to repair the rotted deck.

Please, please, please. Document everything little thing and make sure you are on them for move out walk throughs. I’m so disappointed they did this.

Really ard to get in contact with and will give you the run around. They definitely kept the application fee and never got back to us on what was available. Ended up going with someone else.
