We stayed here for three nights to explore a little of Palm Springs and Joshua tree. The lobby was nicely updated. The check in process was pretty impersonal and their key system still used the old cards. We wondered why there was a charge for parking even though it was in the middle of a suburb and the lot was huge and never full.

The room was generally clean
we did however find some long hairs on the sofa. It was very nice to have a kitchenette for the stay. The windows were filthy. You couldn’t look out the window because of the dirt and grime. The AC below the window blows right unto the bed (not the best location).

We happened to be there for their reception which we thought was great, however, were surprised to find out that they DON’T serve any adult beverages at this Homewood?

Their breakfast was pretty decent with some unique southwest twists. Oatmeal was great! No options for bread except white bread of some kind.

We did have a better time speaking with the night clerk, a young man, who had a good dispostion.

Will probably stay in town next time since parking is generally free in town.

We finally arrived at the Hilton Homewood Suites in Cathedral City about 10pm after traveling into Palm Springs from Oregon. The hotel had an 8.8/10 “Excellent” rating through the site we booked.| |When we were checking in at the front desk, the hotel staff were extremely kind as they fielded multiple noise complaints while we were waiting for them to find us a room. This raised our eyebrows but we stayed the course.||The front desk told us they had overbooked the hotel for the night but luckily there was a first floor room still open for us. We checked into the room and it smelled awful, like dog urine. We reluctantly headed back to the desk to ask for a different room knowing they were pretty short. They moved us into a second room on the first floor and it didn’t smell like urine but was musty and dank, with a whistling motor on the A/c fan unit, and we could hear our neighbors tv blaring through the walls. The bathroom door wouldn’t close all the way and there were patches of paint crumbling off the bathroom wall. Being now close to 11 we decided to settle for it for the night, only to be awakened at 630 by upstairs neighbors clomping around on this Sunday morning.| |We looked at options first thing in the morning and decided to book an Airbnb as this hotel is absolutely dismal and there’s no way I’m staying in what feels like a basement college apartment longer than I have to.| |I’ve stayed in a Homewood suites before that was pleasant, in Tucson, but after this, I may never stay in a Hilton again.| |We left after about 8 hours into a 3 night reservation. The front desk said they couldn’t offer any refund because it was booked through a third party, so they charged us for parking overnight (thanks) and checked us out. Again, hotel staff were friendly in all cases, they just couldn’t do the reasonable thing considering their policy/management. The reviews of this Hilton hotel do not in any way reflect its current state, at least in the section of the hotel we were assigned (rooms 108 and 112). What a dump. I was completely duped and surprised after reading the description and reviews online.| |This feels like complete dishonesty.

My partner and I had a terrific Thanksgiving at the Homewood. The pool was perfect from 11am to 3pm every day, despite the low sun angle. The grills worked well for dinner. We enjoyed king walks along the golf course with views of the mountains. ||We found the breakfast to be a bit chaotic and not especially healthy. But it’s a solid meal for busy families and the waffles are fun, but the options got old after a couple days. ||The staff was fantastic. The room was very clean, as were the grounds. We found the proximity to Joshua Tree and downtown Palm Springs to be simple and convenient. ||All in all- a great trip.

Very nice stay. I enjoyed the kitchenette and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great with hot eggs, potatoes, sausage and waffles. The breakfast lady was very kind to an old man whose had to use the restroom. The breakfast lady sat with the old man until his wife returned. It was a compassionate gesture. The front desk lady was polite, courteous and professional.

Positive: The hotel is in a quiet location yet conveniently located a short Uber ride from the Palm Springs airport. The kitchenette was a nice size and well equipped. The refrigerator was full sized with an ice machine. Negative: There was a charge to park, but it was quite reasonable.

The view in back of the hotel is gorgeous. The pool is beautiful. However we (and about 8 other people) experienced terrible check in service. The main person at the desk would not get off the phone on, what sounded like, a non urgent call. This went on for over 10 minutes as the line grew longer. Another staff member eventually came out but she had a non helpful attitude and it took her another 5 minutes to finally check people in. Between this and the bad room design, we moved hotels after one night. The room was small with no kitchen table and the sofa was love seat size barely fitting 2 people. I could hardly walk around the bed because the dresser was too bulky. If the safe was open (located in the closet) you could not close the closet door. There were no ice machines in the hotel. They referred us to the room refrigerator ice maker which only made 10 cubes in 1-2 hours. Never again. I’m disappointed in you Homewood Suites.

Overall it was a good stay. Friendly staff, rooms were clean. We stayed in a King Studio Suite Mountain View, and for a suite it was fairly small and cramped. To get to the far size of the bed you have to squeeze through a gap between the bed and the dresser which is only about 8 inches. And the bathroom/closet area is cramped and doesn’t have great functionality for 2 or more people. ||Another oddity of this property is no ice machines. The fridges in the rooms have ice makers, but extremely slow. If you want more than 2 cold beverages a day, it won’t be enough, as the ice machine makes a handful of ice a day. We were told very clearly by the front desk that there are no ice machines, just the ice maker in the room. We ended up going to a local store and buying ice. ||Overall it was decent value for the price. But next time I would try somewhere else. ||And have an ice machine your guests can use if they need more than a handful of ice. This is the desert, cold drinks are part of it.

I booked this hotel, and prepaid for our room for one night. After checking in we noticed an additional charge for parking. They didn't ask us at check in if we had one, which we didn't, so we went back to talk to the front desk. We were told they charge everyone for parking even if you don't have a car, but she offered to waive our parking fee at check out. The next morning we asked for late check out, which they granted, however they forgot to mark it on our room and keep our keys active (or tell housekeeping). I went to get water from the gym, and didn't has access. Luckily the front desk reactivated our room keys then. Overall nice people at the front desk, but we won't be back
