I love Horicon Marsh! It's a great place for a quick hike on the boardwalk, or a long one on one of the many trails. Great for bird watching too! The gift shop and museum is super cute and the staff are always friendly. There's so much to explore here!

Views of the Niagara Escarpment. The escarpment is the cliff over which the Niagara River plunges at Niagara Falls, for which it is named; emnants of glacier activity all around. Basking snakes, geese, bird and so many different species of wildlife out here!
This auto tour is paved and smooth going through the Horicon National wildlife refuge. Restrooms are located in the parking lot of the main entrance. Also there's a restroom right before the floating bridge halfway around the loop, along with a picnic area.
This loop is great for rollerblades walking or even a Sunday cruise. There are trails that run through the marsh for people that like to hike.

Wildlife and plants are flourishing! Not too busy either. I spotted whooping cranes (endangered species!), a painted turtle, great egrets, sandhill cranes, and many leopard frogs. It's beautiful and well looked after.

The red fox and redhead trails were nice in the evening, other than all of the mosquitoes that come out a bit later. Bring bug spray. We saw a vole?, goldfinch, deer, monarch butterfly, and lots of little frogs.

New blacktop driving road with beautiful scenery, wildlife you might see - depending on time of day, hiking paths and a boardwalk over the marsh. Beautiful year round to drive, walk, bike or skate!! A must see! 👍
