We love Juniper Springs and have stayed there for two years now during ski week. We love the ease it affords us by being walking distance to the Eagle Express lift. The ski gear can be stored in lockers downstairs which makes it very simple and easy with kids. You can also get rentals within the hotel too which is very easy and avoids the long rental lines process. Because it is so close, we would take a midday break in the unit for lunch which is nice. ||The absolute best part though has been the hospitality of the staff, especially Lannie, who on both stays went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. That personal touch is so appreciated and makes us want to return each year. Thank you Lannie!!

Juniper Springs is a great location, ski-in/ ski-out. The rooms are big, clean, and very kid friendly. The pool is heated in the winter and there’s 3 different hot tubs to chill after a day on the slopes. It’s a bit dated but the location is hard to beat. We took the bus every night to get dinner, only about 10 minutes to the village. I would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed at Juniper Springs a total of eight times beginning in February of 2022. Juniper Springs has a great housekeeping staff and its location makes it very convenient. The pool is great, even in the winter. ||On the down side, the spas are seldom warm enough and it seems like one of the three spas is always colder than the pool. The units are individually owned, so there is some variability in the condition of the rooms. Also, I’ve noticed rooms on the ground floor can have plumbing issues. ||The views from the rooms vary greatly as well. You could end up with a magnificent view of the mountains (416), or you might end up with a view of the parking lot (231) or the backside of Eagle ā€œLodgeā€ (449), which is actually a big, white, plastic circus tent.||In the past, I was able to request a specific room in advance but that no longer seems to be the policy, so it is a bit of a gamble.||Here is an insider’s tip: Juniper Springs has a sister property called ā€œSunstoneā€. If you like Juniper Springs you will love Sunstone. It is smaller, cleaner, quieter, brighter, better maintained, more private, has better views and is a true ski in ski out property. You can ski onto the property and walk twenty feet to the locker room, then return to the chairlift with a nice little downhill run from the locker room to the chair. (If staying at Juniper Springs, you must walk a rather treacherous 100 yards from the locker room to the chairlift.) I like the Sunstone rooms on the upper floors, facing east (315, 305, 203).||Considering the many stresses and variables of making a trip to Mammoth (like the cost, weather and road conditions), it would be nice to have the uncertainty of room assignment taken care of prior to the long drive up. When the current management emailed me and asked for my ā€œfive starā€ feedback on TripAdvisor, I inquired about their policy regarding room requests, but received no response whatsoever.||When I contacted the front desk, I was told nothing could be done until seven days prior, which is within the non cancellation window. At that point it is expensive to cancel, so you don’t have much of a choice but to accept whatever is available.||Regarding my most recent visit, even though I booked directly through Juniper Springs well in advance of my stay and contacted the front desk with my room request, I was unable to stay at Sunstone.||I prefer staying at Sunstone, however there is no guaranteed way of booking a room there by going through Juniper Springs. (There are a few Sunstone properties available through the usual third party websites however.)||I miss the days when manager Harry Mendoza kept open channels of communication with his guests and accommodated their requests. This made us feel special and welcome. His warmth and personal attention has been replaced by the standard hotel industry response of ā€œwe’ll make a note of your requestā€. Shouldn’t guests who book well in advance, directly through the property have their room requests honored, or at the least given their choice of building or at least floor? Maybe even which side of the building they are facing?||Until the current management resolves this issue, I won’t be staying at ā€œJuniper Springsā€, and sadly I’ll be missing out on the joy of staying at Sunstone.

This hotel has no air conditioning! We are staying here during the winter when daytime temps are around 45° and nighttime temps are around 25. Even with the windows wide open, the condo is too warm for all of us.||We have no idea if this hotel just loves to blast the heat and make the hallways 90°, which makes the rooms hot, or if there is some issue with the water heaters warming the rooms. ||But it’s the second time I’ve stayed here and have been uncomfortable with the temperature and there is no way around it.

Juniper Sprints is a great, convenient location for a family - right across from Eagle lodge, lift, and rentals.|The staff at the hotel was helpful and friendly - giving us helpful recommendations for family friendly activities. |The room was perfect and cozy and included the best amenities to enjoy in the mountains: a fireplace, full kitchen, and comfortable bed. |They made sure that we had daily housekeeping needs - towels, dish soap, etc. |Underground parking during the storm was incredibly helpful!

The trip was amazing start to finish, the accommodations were immaculate, both in the suite and the common areas, which is saying something considering the snow storm. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, from the front desk staff, to the coffee shop, to the housekeepers, so friendly. It felt like my own condo as opposed to a big commercial resort. The GM happened to be at the desk when I checked in, such a sweetheart! I would definitely recommend a stay if you have a chance.

We stayed in a two bedroom, two bath condo. The kitchen had coffee maker and other amenities to cook meals.

Rooms were clean and fairly refreshed with new paint and carpet.

Shuttle service is convenient and the lift to Eagle is steps away.
